And much quieter than expected. - I own this one AND the smaller 7.8L/min Hydrofarm pump, as well as others like Tetra. I'm an aquaponics guy and raise my own tilapia. I've tried a few different pumps out there and so far this brand has been the best value based on two main things: #1) Air flow per dollars spent - This pump puts out GREAT air flow through FOUR separate outlets that don't depend on each other. That's a huge benefit that eliminates having to have a "T" fitting AND two adjustment valves, which can not only slow your air flow but it's a pain in the ass to adjust. #2) Noise - I was very impressed with the low noise on this one which is significantly quieter than the smaller Hydrofarm even though the specs say otherwise. Very impressive, especially for a high volume pump. This one is almost as quiet as a Tetra Whisper pump but 300% more air flow given the equivalently priced Whisper. I own a bunch of pumps, including several Whispers like the Whisper 20, Whisper 40, and the larger Tetra 26075 Whisper Air Pump, 150 which even that produces only 2.6 liters/min air flow while this sucker puts out 15 liters/min, although the Whisper is definitely the quietest pump on the market. Even the Whisper 300 only has 4.6 L/min output at three times the price of this one. BOTTOM LINE: This is now my favorite pump out of about 8 pumps that I own. There are other pumps that put out more air flow but they are much more expensive and very loud. There are also more quiet pumps on the market but you would need 2 or 3 of those to put out the same air volume as this one. Where can I find this part in the correct size? Please help.** A: I got this answer straight from the Manufacturer: The AAPA110L has a fitting with a G1/4" Thread size and a 10mm (3/8)" hose barb size. The important thing to note here is the "G", this is not NPT (which is Tapered). The G standard in non-tapered, so NPT will not fit. **Q: Is it 25 L/min per each outlet or is it 25 L/min total?** A: 25L/min total. All 8 outlets are connected through one manifold. **Q: Does this unit include airline tubing and/or stones?** A: No not at all. Make sure you get a semi wide tubing. Also use both outputs other wise its loud.....but other than that its amazing **Q: If I choose to use only 1 outlet at a time. Does it turn the other outlet off and only 1 outlet pumps air? Do I have to use 2 outlets at same time** A: According to the customer pictures of the inside of one there are two separate pumps inside the housing, each running to one line. So one pump should not affect the other. You should be able to place them at different depths, run different lengths of tubing and even leave one completely un-connected. I really wanted a pump that could be plugged into an outlet rather than being battery powered. I went through a few batteries with a pump I bought from PetSmart for $20 and decided that I did not want to waste any more money having to replace the batteries every week or so. It is astoundingly quiet. I left it running in my bedroom as I slept last night and hardly knew it was there. The only way I could detect the sound emitted was if I really tried (I was on the lowest output setting). It has four air outlets rather than the one that I had from the loud battery powered motor from PetSmart, but I cant seem to find a way to turn off or close one of the outlets if I am not using it. The adjustment knob is handy to achieve the rate of air you want, but in my case I am using it on its lowest setting at the moment.
