These needles are comically small
I take responsibility for the fact that I don't understand needle sizes. I may be able to use these for sewing on binding but no way are they useful for hand quilting. The eye is also too small for #8 perle type thread.

John James Gold'n quilting needles
Bought these needles because I am allergy to the nickel plated needles. I used these needles and my hands did not break out. These needles were recommended and I tried them and found them to be very good no break out. Will purchase them again.

The only quilting needle I use
I had used Tulip needles for years for all my hand quilting and EPP projects, and always experienced hand fatigue. I decided to try these JJ Gold'n Glide needles-- what a difference! I'll never buy anything else. The needles truly glide thru fabric, like the proverbial hot knife thru butter. No more hand pain!

Love these quilting needles
I just received the #9 quilting needles and had to write in about them. I absolutely LOVE them!! I have never used the John James Gold'n Glide before. My recent order was simply a way to obtain any kind of size 9 needles that I could find because they are rarely available in the town where I live. I do a lot of hand quilting. The needles I used in the past often broke and were difficult to thread due to a smaller eye. Last night I tried my new Gold'n Glides for the first time and was amazed at how much easier they are to thread and use. My old needles had very sharp points and my left index finger was always sore from being pricked during quilting. I never could work much longer than an hour at the most. The Gold'n Glides appear to have a slightly rounded point and are much easier on the index finger. I was able to quilt for several hours with very little pain. The eye of is larger, easier to thread, and the needle slips through the fabric like butter. As I said, I LOVE them! What luck to have stumbled onto such a prize by random chance. These Gold'n Glides will be my only choice from now on!

Very difficult to thread
I loved the slim style nice and narrow so it would have been perfect for hand sewing a quilt design. the major problem; these needles would not accept the thread thickness for quilting by hand. After trying for several min. to get the thread to go into the needle head , I tried a lighted magnifying glass and found the needle head was too small for the thread. I may be able to use these with a thinner weight of thread for embroidery that does not require 2 threads.

Needles bend and don't go through fabric well.
I have gone through a whole package of these needles in a very short time. They are hard to push through fabric and bend even when not using much force. I would not recommend these needles and will not buy again.
