Luscious Lemon Desserts: (Dessert Cookbook, Lemon Dessert Recipes)

I've been eyeing this book for awhile, and I finally bought it without any reservations. I made several recipes and they were delicious.

Nice book. Quite quaint to see so many lemon recipes in one place. My hubby is a mega lemon lover (<< there should be an actual term for that.) So I thought this book would be a valuable addition to my cookbook collection.The only warning I would add about this book is that the amounts of lemon that it recommends for many of the recipes is EXTREME. Like after you bake the cake, pie, whatever and take a bite out of it, you may have a hard time breathing because of the EXTREME lemonness of the dish. So temper it down a bit.Also, I made the mistake of adding lemon oil to one of the cookie recipes, as per the recipe instructions. Bad idea. Lemon oil is just TOO overpowering in it's flavor. It ruined what would have been an otherwise absolutely wonderful cookie.Other than that, I like this book a lot.

This book is not only a joy to read but full of mouth watering recipes. I just received it but it's full of wonderful desserts that I cannot wait to make. This vendor was accurate in the description and this was the first time I bought something from this company. Extremely. pleased with the book and the description was very accurate. Delicious looking lemony desserts! I have already made the Lemon Pound Cake! It's so moist and yummy...the best pound cake I have ever made according to my family and friends!

Every recipe is a winner. The Lemon meringue pie is worth the time it takes to make, unbelievably good!

I've made this book a gift several times over to friends who bake & Lemon lovers alike. It's well written, user friendly, easy to follow, & beautifully photographed. Just made the Lemon Meringue Pie, something that has intimidated me for decades. Now, I've made two! Absolutely delicious & beautiful! A real crowd pleaser. My other favorites are the Lemon Tart pictured on the cover & the superb Shortbread. I'm just going to continue until I try everything in this beautiful book. Ms. Longbotham shares real gems with personal anecdotes and an excellent glossary and explanation of ingredients. A treasure!

...for those that like lemons! As I do. I came across it while looking for something else entirely on Amazon and noted that .com has many 5 star reviews and only a couple of grouchy/critical ones. It came within ten days when ordered through .co.uk - excellent condition and a knockdown price.It is well put together. A useful introduction on techniques, terminology and tools. It is an American book and so this guide is very helpful in interpreting the recipes. I have only cooked three so far (yes, the simpler ones) - but every one worked and was delicious. I am not an accomplished dessert cook and I will need to take a deep breath before I launch on some of the complex techniques - but I am reasonably confident that the author will talk me through it.The triple lemon cheesecake is stunning (and quite easy) but my wife has ordered me not to make it again for at least a month on pain of death (still, it did encourage her to go to the gym - otherwise it would have been two months!) The Lemon Upside-down Cake is also excellent - as was the Lemon shortbread. The frozen desserts also look very good and I will try those in the summer.Highly recommended if you like the taste of lemon - and not too challenging.

I received the book promptly and in perfect condition. Even though the book is used, it looks brand new. I am very pleased with this purchase. I have not tried any of the recipes for the moment but they seem very interesting and I look forward to take out my apron and start baking.I also purchased in the same book collection the LUSCIOUS CHOCOLATE DESSERTS and LUSCIOUS CREAMY DESSERTS. I have not yet received the other 2 books but based on this one, I can't wait to peak through the books.
