I love the Anne of Green gables story, especially with these actors, they are great and bring the story to life , and I have the dvd storyline before this last one so it sums whole story up well

I bought this for my mum as she has always loved the book and film. She was so happy! Thank you!

Good advice the script writers should have heeded for this appalling and unnecessary 3rd part to the Anne of Green Gables story.It is exhausting watching actors in their mid-thirties struggle to play characters 10 years younger. Green Gables is now run down and neglected thanks to a neglectful landlord and new tenants who have let it go to rack and ruin. Marilla Cuthbert, now deceased after the actress Colleen Dewhurst passed away, would be turning in her grave to see what the tenant’s semi-rabid dog has done to her prized June lillies.Hard to fathom, but Fred is even more miserable and dour than when he married Diana.It is also a struggle to believe that two such as Gilbert and Anne would still be engaged after 5 years?The scene then moves to New York where Gil is practising as a doctor and then onto war-torn France, so the film quickly loses its key appeal – the Avonlea location and all its quirky characters.Jack Garrison Jnr is introduced as a slimy, charmless character who is given far too much air-time so too, scenes of Gil conducting bloody operations as a practising surgeon. Why?Anne Blythe (yeuch!) does retain her old spirit but is never given enough memorable dialogue or funny scenes to raise this movie above made-for-TV mediocrity.In-conclusion, this is not even for the die-hard fans.
