A toddler plays a game of peekaboo, and you're invited to play too. First there's Mommy to find, with Daddy not far behind. Then Puppy comes peeking around the corner, and a favorite toy train brings the toddler to Grandma and Grandpa. Isadora's brilliant, joyful pastel illustrations capture the familiar and cozy people, toys and animals that will delight babies. Join this sweet toddler in the morning fun, sharing words your baby can repeat and pictures your baby will recognize. Then find out what this toddler sees next. It could be you! Review: "Peekaboo Morning" Is a Great Book -- Especially for Black Children - "Peekaboo Morning" by Rachel Isadora was a wonderful addition to my collection of picture books! The story features a delightful black child, who is probably male -- but the gender is not specified & a female could easily identify with the child. The illustrations are colorful and well-designed. All the illustrations are enjoyable, but the child looking at his mirror image is unusual. Showing grandma under her hat, grandpa behind his newspaper, and bunny ears prior to showing the full grandma, grandpa, and bunny gives children practice interpreting pictures. The child is seen having loving interactions with his mommy, daddy, grandma, grandpa, and his white friend. The phrase "Peekaboo! I see..." is often repeated. I know one young child of limited vocabulary, who began to say, "I see you," after hearing the story a few times. Review: Both my kids loved it! - I got this in an desertcart book box back in 2019 and it has been well loved by two of my kids. This was one of my daughter's favorite books and she wanted me to read it over and over again. My son is now 16 months old and it has been his favorite for a few months now. He picked it out and had me read it to him three times tonight. I can't speak to the cultural authenticity as other reviews have as my kids and I are both white but I can say that this is a wonderful book that toddlers love.

Unique Gift Idea
Need a new baby (or 1st birthday) gift? Are you tired of buying blankets, booties, and bunny sleepers? Then here's a gift I love to give that is guaranteed to unwrap a smile! "Peekaboo! I see..." wee readers instantly drawn into this heartwarming story based on the popular children's game. It features an adorable African-American toddler sporting an inquisitive nature and naturally textured hair. I couldn't tell if the child is male or female, which makes it appealing to everyone. "Peekaboo! I see..." eager little readers searching soft pastel drawings for clues. What DOES the child see? The tip of a tail. The top of a hat. Turn the page to discover a playful puppy or laughing grandma. Award-winner Rachel Isadora uses only 53 words, printed in large, easy-to-read type, to keep you guessing. "Peekaboo! I see..." pleased young readers requesting this book again and again. The first evening my youngest daughter spent with a baby sitter, she cried when she realized Mama and Daddy were gone. Thankfully a warm lap, soothing voice, and repeats of Peekaboo Morning comforted her until we returned. For another heartwarming book by Isadora featuring simple text with large, easy-to-read print, and captivating illustrations, read In the Beginning.

Great for toddlers
Cute book. Great for toddlers learning to talk because of repetition. And for kids with short attention spans because there are very few words on each page.

Necessary Book Investment for Toddlers
I really love this book for my children, especially my 2 year-old son! He goes to preschool and he’s the only African American boy in his class so I especially love how the book has illustrations of children of different races playing with one another. He often points to the boy in the book and says it’s him; this makes my heart happy. I recommend every parent invest in this book for at home and in a classroom setting. It’s important for children to see diverse characters starting at a young age and this book does a great job of that for all cultures.

New favorite book!
We love this book! It is so sweet, and so beautifully illustrated. Our 16-month old son giggles every time he sees the bunny, shrieks with excitement about the butterfly, and really digs the watering can too. :) He covets his eyes like the little boy and friend do and does peekaboo right along with it. In an effort to ensure his library is as diverse as the world is, this has been an excellent addition, and a new favorite for all of us! Thank you Rachel Isadora!

Cannot guess what they see
Bought it for cultural diversity and because the story is very understandable to 2 year olds. I only wish that what the baby partially sees shown is more clear... that way the child can guess what the baby is seeing before turning the page. For example, you only see the string of his pull train or the antenna of a butterfly (both hard to see) or the leg of his daddy or hat of grandma (which really is not enough to determine which person it is). Overall a great little book.

My 18 month old son LOVES this book!
I just bought this book for my 18 month old son and he loves it. The artwork is very expressive and the writing is very simple, which is a great combination for a toddler. My son enjoys hearing words he recognizes, accompanied by pictures. When I introduced him to the book, we ended up reading it 5 times in a row! Highly recommend!

Love this book!
This is a great book, especially when the child has started to identify the people around him/her and things in his/her environment. It's a simple book. Definitely one of my favourite books.

Carino e inclusivo
Molto carino! Il protagonista della storia è un bambino marrone... il livello di inglese è base ed il cartonato maneggevole. Lo leggo al mio neonatino.
