I know they are made in China but it's not water based dye is it?** A: Yes water based child safe paint 🙂 **Q: What is the finish to them? Are they polished and shiny or they retain the timber texture and “tarnish”?** A: They’re slightly shiny but not highly polished. They are better value (12 people plus 12 cups, I bought for total £35.99) and seem just as good quality. The wood stain feels very satisfying and tactile like the brands I’ve mentioned already. It has enough friction (not shiny like paint) that the cups and people can be stacked on top of one another without sliding around.
