Is this bear machine washable?

I have this bear and have machine washed him 3 times over the course of the two years I’ve had him. He definitely lost softness and has a more “loved” look. I would recommend washing on gentle inside a pillowcase and air dry. The dryer is I think what made the fur on mine a bit funky. Regardless, it is the MOST loved bear and will continue to be for many years to come.

Yikes! I would say closer to 13 than 16 but whatever the measurements it is very loved by our granddaughter. (He’s at their house or I’d measure for you.

Is this made in Germany?

no. Cambodia. And mine arrived squashed with the fur shedding, and crooked sewing. Not Steiff quality.
