Product description Review: Good electric Turkish coffee pot for the price - I tested this electric Turkish coffee pot, and it is an efficient little appliance with some great design features, though it does have a couple of minor flaws. Operating the unit is seamless; the base plugs into the wall safely, and the single-button toggle on the handle gives you immediate, responsive control over the powerful 600W element. Cleanup is a breeze since the interior stainless steel wipes down completely smooth in seconds. Because this pot heats up so quickly, it requires your absolute, undivided attention. It does not slowly simmer like a traditional stovetop copper pot; instead, it brings the liquid to a foam in well under a minute. There is a bit of a learning curve to mastering the foam rise. On my first try, it triggered a rapid "volcano" spillover. On my second try, I pulled it off early, put it back on the base, and accidentally boiled away the foam. My biggest tip is to keep your hand right on the handle switch: the exact millisecond you see the entire blanket of foam lift vertically, toggle the switch to off and lift the pitcher straight up to break contact with the residual heat. One shot is all you get! For my testing, I tried both liquid stevia and coconut sugar. While stevia worked, I’ve discovered that using a rounded teaspoon of coconut or brown sugar should yield a better crema. What makes this device so useful is its efficiency. Because you mix the coffee and sugar together into the cold water before heating, this is easily the fastest all-in-one coffee brewing method in existence. The moment it pours into your cup, it is already sweetened and completely finished with zero post-brew stirring or extra spoons required. If you let the brewed cup sit completely undisturbed for two minutes before sipping, the ultra-fine coffee sediment packs down so tightly at the bottom that you won't taste any grit. Don’t forget to use a very finely ground, powdery Turkish-style coffee. The main reason I am giving this four stars instead of five comes down to the build quality of the base and handle. The pitcher sits a bit wobbly on its electrical charging base rather than snapping firmly into place. Additionally, the handle is made of a lightweight plastic that doesn't feel extremely sturdy or durable; it would be much improved if it were constructed out of a thicker, stronger material. On the positive side, the handle features a very convenient locking hinge that allows it to fold down for compact storage and snap securely back up when it is ready to pour. It is blazing-fast and a good value for the price, provided you treat the handle with care.
