Protect your skis and SO easy to use
Great little lock that is highly secure. Works at any ski area that has the racks with sliding pin at top. I bought new skis recently so wanted to make sure they didn’t disappear! You can lock skis and poles and is super easy to use. Easily fits in jacket pocket when not using. I love it!!

Minor cost to protect expensive gear!
Very happy with Ski Key through Amazon and directly with them. Very responsive and quick to ship. The family matched keys is a great idea too to not carry so many keys or fumble to find the right one. Protect your gear from the thieves!

Good and Easy Protection
Good protection and easy to carry. Just need the right kind of rack at the slope and this is a solid choice. That said, can pick it up for $25 at your local ski shop. This one is WAY too expensive

Simple Quick. Effective.
If your ski area has racks compatible with this Ski Key lock, then you are in business. They are ridiculously EASY to use. Peace of mind for $30 is well worth it.

Gives u peace of mind when you want to head into the lounge for that hot drink after multiple runs!!
Just bought a brand new GNU snowboard with my K2 bindings last season and saw those racks outside the lounge. Stopped by the store and saw these Ski Key. Picked 1 up from Amazon and used it on the slope the next time and it's super easy to use. Not too many people are using it now and I'm not sure if it's because people didn't know about it or the lock is too expensive. To me the lock is worth it compare to the cost of my board + bindings. Please keep in mind people can still steal your board if they really want to by unscrewing your bindings and pull it out from the rack vertically. It just decreases the risk of theft by making it more troublesome for people to steal it. Cable locks works too but people can just clip the cables with a strong pair of clippers so this is still a little harder to steal from. Another thing is not necessary all the slopes have the rack for this lock. So you may still want to have some other locking device in your bag just in case.

Great concept but useless at many resorts
Unless/until this company makes the racks compatible with these locks become ubiquitous, owning one has little value. Two reasons I see for companies to stay with incompatible ski & snowboard racks:1. Existing equipment longevity. How long to ski racks last? Decades probably. Why replace something with 10 or 20 years of life left?2. Channel conflict: where ski resorts and/or their commercial tenants offer paid for ski security like valet and rentable lockers, a cheap, consumer controlled solution isn’t in their immediate best interest.3. One more long term adoption issue: keys. They send only two. If you lose both, your skis or stuck. Hopefully resorts will have a master key that can open any of these locks but then how secure is it if someone else can open it too? A combination option would be good.I love the concept so I bought one but my first ski trip with it has shown it as a waste (so far).

Cheap protection for expensive gear!
I was out of skiing for many years. When I returned, there were some noticeable improvements that are such great ideas. One is helmets. Two is the ski key. I always used a cable lock but when your fingers are frozen, threading the cable around and through racks is tough. Plus a lot of the new racks are so streamlined, there's nothing to wrap it around. Ski key is an excellent idea, even if proprietary. Takes just a moment to secure the skis.I tried the lanyard that was provided with mine last year but finally decided it was just easier to have the key in my pocket. Having a family pack all keyed the same is the best way to go because it frees one person to drop off or fetch all the skis while someone else goes for the car, etc. I originally bought a 2-pack for me and my nephew, then a single for out of town friends to use. I should have just bought a 3-pack to start with, that way only one key is involved. Lesson learned.I can't believe how careless skiers/boarders are with their expensive gear, even at places where it's just a quick dash to the parking lot. I even once had some cheap kid skis stolen at Killington. Seriously? People will steal anything, folks! Dont make it so easy. This is cheap protection.

Not many resorts have racks compatible with this proprietary lock
The lock and idea are good. But, it requires compatible rack - and the resorts I went to do not have such racks. This is the case where partial availability is not good enough. I need to have with me a lock system that is universally applicable. I've ended up returning this "ski key" because of this limitation. And opted to carry a 5 mm cable with a combination lock https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B009BIRB2M.
