Works well. You can make your own for much less, but time is money.

Easy to use and works great
This launch base works great, it is easy to build and take down at your launch site. I used a 1/4 inch ID collet with a set screw to set the height of the rocket rather than tape.

Difficult to assemble
Well, looks neat in photos, and maybe if you can get it together if might be. The PVC goes together well enough, but the center rod and plate use little cog like locking washers, that are extremely difficult to make work. I finally gave up. It would have been so easy for them to just use a bolt and nut. If you can get it together, it will probably be a nifty launcher. The biggest drawback is the design flaw of using little locking cog washers to put it together. If you can someway get that done, it will probably work well. Since I couldn't get it together, did not get to test it.

But I like to give Estes my money as they're a good ...
A bit overpriced for some PVC and an aluminum rod. But I like to give Estes my money as they're a good company.

Cheaply made.
Poorly made. The legs aren’t even capped on the ends. The blast plate is too small and sags because it is mounted on the end.I made the appropriate fixes but I shouldn’t have had to.

Small blast plate, rod bends easy, sturdy legs
As you can see, the blast plate is way too small and the rod bends easy. The legs are sturdy and it stands about 2 feet off the ground.
