Holy Currencies: Six Blessings for Sustainable Missional Ministries

I am using this text to teach a fuller understanding of fund raising in the congregation’s stewardship program. It completes the curcuit-time, skill, money are effective only when in circulation.

I truly enjoyed every chapter of "Holy Currencies." I love the idea that communities have many "currencies;" tools that flow between people that result in blessings and well being. In the church we often get focused on the "almighty dollar," even assessing time and talent with dollar figures. When we do stewardship drives, we talk about time and talent but really mean money. In this book, discover six ways (money is one of them) that blessings flow. This book gives us much more of a whole, compete way of talking about our resources. I plan on using the six currencies idea throughout the year, not just at stewardship time. It helps me see how balanced my ministry is. How much time do I devote to each of the six currencies? I can also see how very poor a congregation can be if it has lots of dollars, but no significant flow in the five other areas. An inspired book.

This ingenious paradymn allows ALL members of a Congregation, workplace, or other organized group to be able to voice their truth, offer their talents & resources , feel empowered & become engaged in the success of their group. Just an amazing book.

Holy Currencies can open its reader's mind to a deeper awareness of the blessings surrounding each of us. A person can be financially impoverished and still be very wealthy in other ways - such as relationships, time or wellness. A great read for individuals and congregations feeling as though they just don't have enough to keep going or to keep their head above water.

Rev. Law was the speaker at our annual conference this year. The book is great. It's one of those rare finds that changes the way that you think about things.

Eric Law seems to have a grasp of opportunities for renewal that many others have glimpsed but not grasped. His writing is clear, realistic and filled with seeds of hope. It is a good read and well worth the purchase price
