The wheels were the perfect addition to our Pinewood Derby Car.

The wheels were lighter weighing only 2.1g but spinning them on a polished nail, all four wheels behaved differently. One was super smooth and spun forever, but the other three wobbled like crazy. I had no choice to use them in my car putting the worst wheel in the raised position. The car I built did not perform well and was in the middle of the pack. I sincerely think the "bad" wheels were a contributing factor in the poor performance.

This is my first time ever writing a review but I felt compelled to provide some guidance for those contemplating the $24.95 purchase. Outside of a $6.00 tube of graphite powder, I purchased these wheels and the cylinder tungsten weights. Usually I am of the “DIY” mindset but unfortunately did not have access to the lathe/CNC machinery.My son won all ten heats and took first place overall. Average speed was just over 197 MPH with an average time of 2.50 seconds. I believe that these wheels had an impact on his car’s performance.My only complaint is that we found these wheels to be difficult to align. After spending over two hours on race day attempting to correct a significant pull to the left, we gave up and submitted a misaligned race car. I am unsure if I can attribute this problem to the wheels or us being novices and getting impatient/frustrated with the alignment process.My advice if you want to win would be to purchase these wheels and ensure that you allocate enough time prior to the race for the alignment. Sent exactly what I expected

The shaving was done well and they weighed as advertised. I would consider these non-essential, a must for a very souped up derby car but otherwise are not going to make you win. I built three more winners this year, the ones with wheels out of the box went a little faster. There are at least six other factors you must consider to build a winner. On all my wheels, out of the box or not I polish the hub, and polish the axles through six grades of sandpaper. But I beat entire packs with OOB regulation wheels.

Two of the four wheel delivered to me had giant gashes in them. I'd have to assume that quality control on these are extremely poor

Excellent customer service! Full disclosure... I received a bad batch of wheels... It happens. The important thing is that the company stood up and took responsibility. They expedited a new set to my home along with a few extras for my troubles! The owner seemed genuinely concerned about the bad batch and made it right. The new set I have are very nicely lathed with a clean bore and true tread surface. Saved me a lot of wheel prep time.

Exactly as promised. My kid took first place in the whole pack of about 60 kids! The wheels are only a small part of the equation. Based on talking with the other dads, I think this was the reason he took first in our pack, as every other great car had similar setups to ours.
