Christian Bible Study Participant's Guide: It's Not What You Think

"Christian, it's Not What You Think", is an AMAZING sermon series and this participant guide helps pull out the principles in the videos. I recommend using the complete 8 video series found at the Northpoint Community Church website.

This has to be on of my favorite studies by Andy Stanley. This series caused me to see and think about familiar subjects in a deeper way. It started with a question: "Are you JUST a Christian, or are you a disciple of Jesus Christ." His point was that all sorts of people define being a Christian in a multitude of ways, and the word itself is only used 3 times in Scripture, and not always in a good light. But in Jesus' time, He called them, and they called themselves, disciples, and that role is well defined in scripture.I would highly recommend this study for any class lasting 45 minutes or longer, as the video has both the total sermon and a shortened version for shorter classes. Excellent material.

This guide follows right along with Stanley"s talk on video lessons. There are suggested scripture readings to help prepare for the lessons, things to think about as you go along and discussion questions for afterwards. The text follows right along with his talk , so you can have much of his dialogue in front of you as he presents the lesson. Over all this is a great study I would recommend to all who would seek to follow Jesus and understand how to express His love to others who might not necessarily think as you do. Like the title says : Christian, It's Not what you think .

I loved studying this book with my women’s Group. It really touches on those controversial Christian topics and teaches how we should deal with others whether they are believers or not. I think everyone should read this book if for no other reason than to discover where their own Christian weaknesses are.

This book makes me realize that we should be very careful when we Judges others, because the bible tells us to only judge the insiders in our church and let God do the judging of the (outsiders) lost. We are to love the lost, not to judge them and this is how to win them to the saving grace of Jesus Christ. This book has help me to grow in my Faith.

Good study! I had some ladies in my study who really learned from and appreciated this! We came from different denominations but were able to meet on common ground with this. The content is straightforward and clearly presented, and the discussion questions are well-crafted. Would use again in a different group!
