I have an old unit that started leaking and had mold and algae. Once it was cleaned a little, I placed the pan strip in the bottom and things have been much better. Worth the money.

Pan strips are a great way to keep up the maintenance of your air conditioning system. The problem many people make is not putting them in the correct position to where they'll collect the condensation run off from your evaporator coil going into your drain line. This will lead to your pan strip just laying there becoming a soggy mess and not going where it needs to go.

Item is fir anti corrosion and prevention of drain from pan blockage. Unit should operate without drain blockage and collection of corrosion product in pan. Operation and post 6 month inspection will judge performance.

It does the job - all I care about. If you have roots around your septic tank lines, then you need this.

WARNING: I've bought these directly from home improvement stores before never had a problem. This 1 that arrived didn't look like the photos it was much thinner, was in different packaging than the store bought one, and had a very strong chemical smell. I put it in the AC pan like usual. Woke up severely congested with very strange chemical smell and taste in mouth. I was coughing and sinuses were plugged. My eyes were swollen. I should have realized it was this thing but I didn't. The next 2 days I got progressively worse. When I'd come home a strong chemical smell greeted me. I woke up the 3rd night trembling, feeling sick to stomach. I walked by the AC closet on way to bathroom and recognized the strong smell coming from the closet as the one in my sinuses! I finally took this thing out of the AC pan. It had turned to jelly, and twisted into a U shape. Never saw that with store bought ones. It's supposed to last months! The chemical smell was so strong! I thew it out and within a couple hrs my sinuses cleared up, eyes were less swollen, stopped coughing, stomach stopped hurting, and I didn't wake up trembling that night. That sick chemical smell in my sinuses and taste in my mouth went away. Stay away from this junk! I'm scared it is toxic and was actually poisoning me!

This item seems to be working fine but it came about 3/4 thick by 3/4 inch wide by about 4 inches long nowhere near like what's displayed on this web page, this page shows about 2-3 inches wide by about 4 inches long I feel like I've been cheated out of most of my product!
