I love it!
I have been taking this for a couple of years, with a cumin supplement, and the vague, generalized leg aches & pains that had been negatively impacted my life for over 2 years disappeared. (I had had multiple tests & Dr visits with no explanation for them) However, do not expect immediate results as if it were an NSAID. When I stopped taking it "just to see if my aches would stay away" they came back after about a month.

don't drink it too fast...
This is a good blend of ingredients from a reliable brand. The first time I tried it, I drank the whole serving in about 5 minutes and ended up with a lot of gas, bloating and abdominal cramping. The second time, I spaced it out over about 30 minutes and that worked a lot better for me, no side effects. Magnesium can cause gastric distress, so I'm not sure if that was the issue. Just be cautious and go slow. I am looking forward to continuing to use this supplement.

Made in the USA & 3rd Party Lab Tested
In order for me to trust a supplement it must be made in the USA in a GMP-certified facility and be third-party lab tested. This Metagenics MitoVive supplement meets my requirements. I really appreciate that they use methylated B vitamins in their formulation since they are the active form. One serving includes 300mg of magnesium bisglycinate, which is my preferred form of magnesium. I normally have to take a minimum of 3 magnesium pills to achieve this dose. This supplement is vegetarian and free of GMOs, gluten, and MSG. The supplement is to be mixed with 4-6 ounces of cold water. It has an orange flavor that I find to be palatable. It is sweetened with a combination of organic cane sugar and stevia. Personally, I would prefer it to be sugar-free. The container will last 30 days at the recommended serving size of 1 scoop per day. At the current price of $58.17, the cost per daily serving is $1.94. The expiration date is 18 months in the future.Metagenics has a well-developed and fully functional website with this supplement available for purchase. They are active on social media platforms with 61K followers on Facebook. They are a well-trusted brand in the medical community and have been in business for over 40 years. They are a certified B Corporation, which means they have been certified by B Lab, a non-profit organization, for meeting high standards of social and environmental performance, transparency, and accountability. They claim to be the #1 doctor-recommended professional supplement company. I have no way of verifying that statistic but AI did mention Metagenics (among others) when asked which supplement brand do most doctors recommend. The Integrative Health practice I personally use for my healthcare needs recommends Metagenics supplements. Metagenics manufactures most of their supplements in Gig Harbor, Washington and they are headquartered in Aliso Viejo, California. The website offers a toll-free phone number, email address, and contact form for customer assistance and the toll-free phone number is printed on the bottle label. Based on my research into Metagenics, I feel very confident in the safety of taking their supplements.

My Gut Reaction (Literally)
I was genuinely excited to try this product, especially since it contained magnesium, a supplement I take regularly. To give this powder a fair shot, I even stopped my usual magnesium intake for two days beforehand. My initial impression was mixed. The orange flavor was palatable, albeit noticeably sweet due to the higher-than-preferred sugar content. As someone who monitors their blood sugar and tries to avoid added sugars, this was a definite drawback right off the bat.Unfortunately, the pleasant taste was short-lived. Almost immediately after consumption, my stomach began to protest. This discomfort escalated throughout the afternoon and into the night, culminating in significant abdominal distress in the middle of the night. I experienced painful bloating and a symphony of loud gurgling. Let's just say my digestive system was in turmoil, with frequent trips to the bathroom that promised relief but delivered only noise, cramping, and discomfort. I was awake for hours, feeling miserable and finding no respite.Hoping the initial reaction was due to combining the powder with another supplement, I tried it again the following night, taking it on its own. Sadly, the same agonizing experience repeated itself. It was only after resorting to activated charcoal and oil of oregano that I finally found some relief and managed to get some sleep. This ordeal prompted me to do some research. Knowing I tolerate high doses of magnesium without issue, I suspected another ingredient. My attention turned to annatto powder, the natural colorant in the formula. I discovered that gastrointestinal distress and allergic-type reactions are known side effects for some individuals, and my symptoms aligned almost perfectly with these reactions.Due to these severe reactions, I was only able to use the product for two nights, making it impossible for me to assess any potential long-term benefits. While this may be an uncommon reaction, I strongly advise those with sensitive digestive systems to be cautious. My symptoms completely resolved after discontinuing the product, solidifying my belief that it was the culprit. The reaction was simply too intense for me to consider a third attempt.Beyond the unpleasant physical effects, I was also not a fan of the high sugar content. Even without the digestive issues, this would have been a deterrent for me. Furthermore, I found the product to be overpriced compared to other options on the market that are both more affordable and gentler on the stomach. Personally, I would not repurchase this even without the negative side effects, given its cost.On a positive note, I did look into the company, Metagenics, and was impressed by their long-standing reputation and legitimacy within the supplement industry. They appear to be a well-established and reputable brand. In conclusion, while Metagenics may be a reputable company, this particular product was not a good fit for me due to a combination of significant gut sensitivity, high sugar content, and a price point that doesn't align with its value, especially considering my negative experience.

Works great for dieting
Works great for a little afternoon hunger relief when dieting. Seems to provide some gut health benefits as well. Taste isn't bad at all.

Bloating and cramping were a dealbreaker
I recommend reading through other reviews that mention bloating, gas, and cramping and definitely drink this slowly over time if you decide to try it, as that might help reduce those symptoms.Personally, I wasn’t a fan of the side effects. I’ve been into biohacking for a few years now and usually take individual supplements. I’ll be sticking with those since they work for me without the side effects. Unfortunately, with this one, I experienced bloating, gas, and cramping, so I didn’t finish it.
