In my case I had to "Dremel off" approximately 1/4" of the thick rubber coating on the LED strip lights to expose enough of paper thin strip light to fit in the tiny slot on the Fntex butt connector and further "etched" the rubber coating off the +/- conductor(s) with the tip of my pocket knife so they would make contact with the tiny metal connectors in the Fntex 3528 connectors. I also had trouble fitting the prepped ends into the connector slots as they wanted to ride over the tiny metal tabs in the Fntex connector instead of under. How I solved that was to pinch the tape slightly and it slid in under the tabs and then when snapped closed the connections were made and the additional 5' of light strip worked. This was a major tedious "micro" surgery but it ended up working well. I'm thinking you must have patience and be somewhat handy to make these work on outdoor coated lights. I suspect indoor LED strip lights are not coated which would make this MUCH easier. I hope this helps someone trying to use these on waterproof LED strip lights! PS I coated the connector afterwards to keep it waterproof. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Don't trust all the reviews. But the more I read them, the more I realized that the reviewers didn't know what they were doing, did things wrong, and blamed the connectors.I could try to write some detailed instructions here, but I know that some folks have trouble following written instructions. So I've decided to post some photos instead. Look closely at them. You'll see how to properly use these connectors. You don't need vice grips or needle nose pliers or profanity or the strength of a gorilla. You just need to install them properly. They worked so well I just added them to my bar shelves. Easy to do with these wire connections when cutting the lights to length. I used Zip Tie and Cable Tie Squares Adhesive Mounts (100pcs 0.75n, Black with Zip Ties) to mount.
