In fact, I can fit more with this size. I even fitted 2 round plates that i can steam with. I bought an 8" Bamboo steamer which it didn't fit comfortably. I had to force it down. I wish the top plate can be a little wider to fit it. The included 2 steam pots with covers are great for vegetables and other food. I really liked the dual zone, i can save some power by just using one side if i only want to heat/cook only a small portion. I'm very happy with my purchase. I actually had a reheated chicken, rice and kale dinner done in under 15 minutes and the reheated chicken was as moist as it was when it was first made. The steamer is well made with stainless steel. First, there was no hard water test kit. We called Breville and they said "send it back to Amazon!" That seemed pointless so, knowing we have hard water, we set the level at 4. It just means we have to clean it/descale more often. This evening I loaded it up with water, placed two artichokes in the steamer, turned it on and it ran about 3 minutes and went completely blank. I couldn't turn it back on so I plugged something else into the outlet to make sure it wasn't a power issue and it wasn't. Three times I was able to turn it on and have it run a couple of minutes, shut completely down and have to let it sit 5 - 7 minutes before I could turn it back on again.
