Knitter's Pride-Nova Platina Double Pointed Needles Set 6", Socks Kit

I love these double point knitting needles. The yarn just glides over them and the points are the perfect sharpness to catch the stitches. The price is amazing.

I bought these because I always use the bamboo or the birch needles and I. Broke quite a few lately. So far I worked in a few projects and they still intact! Great price too!

Updated with CRITICAL info! these were confiscated from me in an airport security in Belgium. I had been through several European and US airports with them on that trip but they were not allowed into Belgium. So, for travel, I have switched to wooden needles. Still loved these and may have to reorder them. Keeping 5 stars, since it was my fault and not the needles! (I did ask the TSA people to donate them to some nice knitter).These are very nice, smooth, easy to use knitting needles. They are fairly sharp, more so than my wooden ones, which makes them good for some yarns and especially for patterns with decreases and yarn overs. I've already made 3 pairs of socks with them, and I love having all the size options ready to gauge swatch.

Being perfectly honest, these are my first metal DPNs. I have always used bamboo because of the fear of dropping stitches without that extra friction. Anyway, this kit is perfect for my needs. The needles are hefty, maybe a little heavier than I would prefer for the largest diameter. The needles are pretty symmetrical. I’m not sure if this is an intended feature, but my needles seem to have one end that is sharper and one that is more dull. I have found this to be nice depending on what yarn I’m using.I can definitely keep my knitting tighter for my socks, which has helped me significantly is attaining the correct gauge.I love that the needles are engraved with the size so that it cannot rub off, and the carrying case is sturdy. I cannot compare to other needles, but I was so happy to find a quality set that isn’t nickel plated (I have an allergy).This is my first purchase from knitter’s pride, but I will definitely have to check them out for future knitting purchases.

My stitches just roll off the needle in a way I have never experienced before.

I prefer to use magic loop in the round, but there are times when DPNs are so much easier (e.g., glove fingers). I like the case and the price of this set. Unfortunately, the first set I ordered had several needles with chips in the chrome playing at the tips. I ordered a replacement set, sorted through both to create an undamaged set, and then returned the set with the chipped needles. I imagine with heavy use the chrome will wear down, so this set may not be the best choice for frequent use.

These needles are great! I bought these as a gift for my daughter. She makes socks and other projects using tiny needles. These don't break like wooden ones can. She said they are sleek, but not slippery enough to fall out.

I bought these as a replacement for my very, very old bamboo dpns (which are now too bent to use) & couldn't be happier. The tips aren't too sharp for a "picker" but pointy enough decreasing manuevers.

Great set! I had previously purchased a cheaper set and as soon as I opened them I returned them! Then these arrived and they are perfect! Sharp points, smooth surface and perfect length and weight for me. I would not hesitate to purchase this brand again!
