Dark Day in the Deep Sea (Magic Tree House Merlin Mission)

We have the complete series of MTH books, both the simpler paperback ones and the Merlin Series hardcovers. Currently my (almost) 8 year old son is ensconced in the books, but my 11 year old read this book as well just because she wanted to say she's read them all (granted, it took her less than an hour to finish the whole thing, but she is reading at the 7th grade level so no surprise). Both really enjoyed the story, said it is one of the better story lines in the Merlin Series, interesting, creative, etc. Highly recommend.

My grandson wasn’t interested in reading but I found The Magic Treehouse Merlin Missions and now he’s hooked. He can’t wait to finish the book and go to the next story. Easy reading. Highly recommend for boys(7 and up)

Loved the historical fiction in this book and that it teaches a good lesson.

My son read the first series and now is going through the Missions series. This is one of the only series he likes. Good story line and imagination.

A wholesome message for young readers. I liked the enthusiasm of the children, and their desire to learn and help. Sweet book.Doesn’t hurt that the octopus is a good guy, too!

My son doesn't like to read. He saw a friend with this book and he is begging me to read to him. Very simple to follow plot, short chapters, and fast moving.

I purchased this book for my second grade classroom to utilize during our study of oceans. My students absolutely loved reading it and they learned an enormous amount of information and vocabulary while they read it! Extremely well written! I would highly recommend this book to teachers and parents of students in grades 1-3.

Another brilliant book by Mary Pope Osborne. My 6 year old grandson can't wait to read when he gets home from school.
