Real Stainless Steel - Not Steel Looking Plastic Wrap
WOW - A superior product that actually is and does what it is advertised as and to do. So many of these "stainless steel" hose replacements are or refer to the screw on fitting ONLY as being stainless steel, while the "hose" itself is just a silver plastic wrapped around an inner rubber hose. This hose has stainless steel fittings, and flexible steel- I "think" wrapped around a reinforced rubber lining (based on other reviewers input - though not in the detail information on the product) - I just can not see this one failing. The extra length for which I was looking for is as advertised - a real winner. I removed my previous plastic hose applied some Teflon tape to my shower connector threads, and just hand tightened this one into place. No leaks, none, zero. I find no restricted water flow at all. Pros: Each stainless steel fitting is a cone shaped connector, this helps in re-leaving the stress point where the tube bends coming out of the fitting. Most other products have a longer cone shaped fitting on one end, and a stainless steel nut on the other not giving much bend strain relief at all. One end (the end you should attach to the shower head wand) has a recessed rubber O-ring, this is the part that fits into the shower wand holder and acts to hold the wand in place at a given angle or rotation. Without this, unless you have a tight fit the shower head wand will not stay in a placed position but move to the lowest center of gravity point. Cons: None that I can find or have found, though pricing on this tend to fluctuate a bit (not a product issue however) I purchased this in the $13 range, after receiving it and finding the quality I went to order another (same day as I received it) and found the seller was different, and the price was closer to $18. If and when it goes back down I will purchase the next one. Word to the wise, if you find this in the $13 range and need several, order them all at the same time. I would recommend this product to others, and will purchase another for my other shower.

Excellent quality shower head hose that is extra long
After purchasing this extra-long shower hose twice spanning a five-year period, I figured I should probably review it. So here I am. The first purchase was made in 2018 and the hose has served me well the entire time. It has not become stiff, developed any leaks, or suffered from any other failures. If your home has its shower heads mounted high on the wall, like mine, you will certainly appreciate having the extra length. I liked it so much that, when my other shower's hose became stiff due to hardening of the internal rubber, I decided to buy this one again.

DO NOT PURCHASE THIS PRODUCT - Potentially damaging
DO NOT PURCHASE THIS JUNK. Pay attention to the reviews. Just a terrible product which breaks and can cause 1000s of dollars of water damage in your home. Spend another 10 bucks and get a better quality. One that won't end up costing you dearly. What a POS

Way better than the one my shower came with or any of the crappy plastic alternatives
Great product! I've been looking for an alternative to plastic hoses for years and am glad you have it. You see, I like to wash my hair while sitting in a hot bath but the 6' hoses that come with handheld showers are just too short to get down the wall and reach comfortable behind my head. I also occasionally bathe my toy poodle in the tub. The 6' hoses are too short to rest in my tub between rinsings where the water can be directed down, and would spray all about or require me to turn the water on and off repeatedly while trying to hold onto a slippery dog. Thanks to this hose, I've been able to do everything I want and not fear it'll sprink a leak at some point (as have the plastic ones when they unexpectedly split). It's also more flexible than the plastic ones, which tend to hold a shape and jut out from the wall a bit when the shower head is in the bracket rather than hang straight down like this one does. The only downside, and it's really not even that, is that metal is heavier than plastic. But you kind of knew that already didn't you.

Not a bad hose. Not great though...
A long time ago we had some European friends visit us. Well, our bath had at that time the standard fixed shower head, and they asked us how in the world are we able to thoroughly wash our body parts (you know, mostly referring to the one associated with the sun shining). We had since tried to use all kinds of shower hoses - bought at big box stores, little stores, giant stores, etc. All of them had something in common: they were made of totally inflexible plastic pipe (I cannot call that rubber hose), and even if they were made to look nice (fake stainless) they were crap. Enter Amazon - 3 years ago we were finally able to find and buy online a very nice stainless hose - the Whedon Products 78"-100" Metal-Stretch Shower Hose Af206c . It has been used and abused during this 3 years. And in contrast with most reviewers, we did not wash our dogs with it (have none), but we used it to wash ourselves, and guess what? it worked fantastic! Also, washing the kids' hair with this thing is a dream! The length was perfect for our needs - never needed to pull on it to extend it. Now, after 3 faithful years, it started to leak. That was a sad day - but not for long as it is still available for sale. But, for some odd reason we decided to look for alternatives (maybe one that would last 4 years, no?) and purchased this hose by Quality Product 4 Less. You know, you'd think there wouldn't be a big difference, but there is. The Whedon hose compressed the exterior sleeve on a more flexible interior rubber hose, so when you pull on it the sleeve will decompress and the interior hose will extend - hence the stretch ability. The Quality Product 4 Less hose is longer, but there is one trick here: only the interior rubber hose is longer, not the stainless sleeve. The sleeve is fully decompressed, and the interior rubber hose does not extend. Actually it is a little too stiff so the entire hose does not "hang" nicely. Also, (I did not measure but) it seems that the Whedon hose has actually a longer (but compressed) metal sleeve and thus it is a little heavier, giving it a more "expensive" look (it also "hangs" much nicer than the Quality Product 4 Less hose) So what to do? Keep this new hose, or buy the Whedon again? Argh... I guess we can give the Whedon hose another try, it is a nicer hose overall, and $7 a year is not that bad... The Quality Product 4 Less hose just does not have that nice feeling to it, and (as mentioned by other reviewer) the fitting that connects to the shower head doesn't have the same size/shape as the holder so the shower head is loose when placed in the holder. I feel that this should probably be a 4-star product when compared to those stupid plastic hoses, but I just cannot give it more than 3 as now I have a benchmark on how it should be. Edit: I upgraded it to 4 stars - this is not a bad hose, and 3 stars would probably be unfair as on Amazon 3 stars are reserved for critical reviews...

Worth the Amazon Price
It seems to be very durable; certainly, the sort of ruptures that I have experienced with ordinary shower hoses would be virtually impossible for this hose. It has an excellent length; in most cases, one could lay in the tub of a combined shower-tub, and easily direct the shower head anywhere one might plausibly want, using this hose. And the texturing of the end pieces means that this hose is not inclined to rotate in the holder socket. The hose is notably heavier than an ordinary shower hose, but this should not be a significant problem for anyone but those who are (for whatever reason) extremely feeble. I do note that the spiral-wrapped metal strip that forms the outer shell has a propensity to grab hair that comes against it. I feel that my money was well spent. UPDATE: Nearly a dozen years after I wrote the preceding words, the hose that I got for myself has been holding-up well, though it has a few areas of rust. On the other hand, a second hose of the same sort that I installed in one of the showers at my parents' home reportedly developed a leak after something like a year. Unfortunately, because people who are happy are less likely to leave reviews, and because of the pervasive problem of shill reviews, I cannot infer much about how often these hoses fail. I would buy another of the same sort if my present hose began discernibly leaking.

Lasted About Four Years...Not Bad For The Price
So I just ordered a second hose as a replacement at $12.99 because the inside rubber hose split and I've lost water pressure. All-in-all, this isn't a bad shower hose for the money. The first one I bought was $9.89 and it lasted a little over four years. Really not bad for ten bucks! Seriously, we have to put our expectations in check. Many products are made cheaply with cheap materials and to get four years out of a ten-dollar hose is really very good in my opinion. Now if I paid forty-fifty-sixty bucks for a hose, I would expect it to last at least ten years but ten bucks for four years is just fine with me. The first hose cost me $2.50 per year to use/own. I think it's well made, attractive, and the extra length is fantastic. Looking forward to getting my second one tomorrow.

Pretty durable
I've purchased this twice in the past 4 years. I'd say they last about 1.5 - 2 years before you should consider replacing. Mine started leaking right at the top close to the faucet so i just went ahead and replaced it. I'm satisfied and I'll probably buy again. There may be more durable products out there that are more expensive but as a renter I don't see the point in spending more money than I have to on things like this that may or may not move with me to future apartments.
