Disclosure: I am a previous POP Voice customer and these opinions are my own based on my knowledge and experience with the product.If you are looking to do basic voice recording for the web this is the microphone for you. Even if you were looking to get semi-professional grade audio for interviews for either journalism or research, the POP Voice PV510+ lavalier microphone with the whopping 16' cord is a good low-cost option. This microphone VERY sensitive and tolerates a wide area of placement on a person, which is very nice if you are shooting video and don't want the mic in the shot. The microphone has a remarkable dynamic range for a sensor in this price range and does a good job of cutting ambient noise. It is well calibrated for picking up the human voice and delivers a crisp and clear recording that accurately reflects the speech of the subject. One possible drawback is the high sensitivity of this mic. Users are cautioned to position the sensor 12 or more inches from the subject's mouth and monitor audio levels while recording. While I had no difficulty with this product, I purchased the previous version of this microphone and had some struggles getting it to connect to apps on my Essential Phone. I'm happy to report that POP Voice has a very responsive and helpful customer service department. I have successfully used this microphone with Open Camera and Cinema FV-5 Lite, both available on Google Play. I highly recommend this microphone for casual and semi-professional applications.

I do Youtube Videos and use my smart phone for the audio record. I thought the audio on my videos were ok until I used this lapel Mic. The difference is night and day. No it will not win any Academy Awards but if you want clear audio that has a good tone and can't afford to buy expensive equipment then this is the one for you. The cord is longer than i expected and will work just fine. The mic is small but it sounds HUGE. It has a nice clip so you can clip it to your shirt. You do not need to have it right at your mouth for it to work. I put it on the color of a t shirt and it was just fine. Wish I had bought one of these when I got started doing Youtube video (400 and counting)

I bought it for a final project in journalism and had to interview people from my school. it turned out better than expected, and was pretty clear for such a cheap and small mic. It connects to my phone fine, though it has a bit of static, its perfect for small projects.

Decent construction and sound quality. I found the cord to be a bit long but that is not a major drawback. Wind noise rejections with the mic cover is pretty impressive. I did not encounter any high popping on voice. Good mic for the price!

Cardioid this ain't. This is a really great little lav mic; output is clear and crisp, the clip is robust with a strong spring and sturdy blued steel, cable length is great (really very long) and doesn't make much noise while moving, and the price for what it is I don't think can be beat. Even comes with a TRRS to TRS adapter and extra pop filters. If you need some lav mics for a webcast, you could definitely do worse.But, it'll pick up a fart in the next room. So, make sure you're setting your cutoffs appropriately.

Overall this product is good and useful. I really like it when used with my mobile phone. But when I tried it with my laptop, although it works, the sound quality is just not the same (sounds tinty and weak). I tested it many times with my Laptop (which is a good high-quality laptop Lenovo w/Windows 10), but I could never duplicate the same sound quality that I go when using it with my phone. Yeah I tried with the adapter and everything, and it just didn't cut it - even some other people noticed the difference. So from my experience and testing, great on phone, sucks on laptop. This is unfortunate because I really wanted to use it with my laptop as well, but now I have to buy a different product and just use this exclusively with my phone.

This mic is so much better than it should be for what I paid. It feels solid, it sounds crisp and clear.I did have a problem hooking it up to my phone. The problem is totally with my phone and not the mic, but maybe people should know. I have a Huawei Mate 9 phone. I bought the mic to use when shooting video. The bundled Android photo app cannot be used with an external mic. It only receives sound from the built in mic on the phone. I had to install a new photo app (I used Open Camera, but there are loads of choices out there) to get the mic to work as I wanted it to. Again, this is not an issue with the mic, but I thought this info might be helpful to others.

This microphone does what it says and records audio. It sounds on-par with the internal microphone on my iPhone X but the audio is more constant because it is attached to you, I tested it and I was the full 16 feet away and the audio sounded the same as when I was 1 foot away, not the same story with the iPhone, the audio became low and not very audible.I love the inclusion of a Velcro tie to help with the storage of the mic when not using it. It also comes with a phone to PC adapter in the box, 2 extra wind muffs, and a high quality storage bag that the mic fits into perfectly.I do have one thing I dislike about the mic though, which is why it gets 4 stars from me, the sensitivity of the mic is a bit to high and I have to clip it about half way down my shirt so the audio doesn't spike when I talk. Other than that the mic is a steal at $15 and I would recommend it to anybody looking for an inexpensive microphone to record audio.

Bought this to improve audio when filming videos for YouTube. It makes a very big difference in sound quality compared to the mic built into my phone. The audio level is a bit "hot" so it may be useful to be able to turn down the gain in my phone. I found it does pick up ambient noise and people standing nearby. This could be a good thing or bad thing. Overall I'd say it is excellent value for money. The little velvet bag it comes in is a nice touch too.

Does exactly what I need it to do. I'm no sound engineer but I can tell you it is one hundred times better than using the onboard mic on your camera or smartphone. Comes with 2 adapters depending on what you're hooking up to. I use it with a Sony ICD UX533 voice recorder and it works flawlessly (I sync up voice recording to match video in post editing). The included 16 foot cable is perfect if you're using your smartphone/camera as a video and voice recorder. Seems to be of good build quality. For me it's a great value.

I got this microphone to wear doing audition self-tapings where it's important to be able to hear me speaking clearly. It has a very long cord, so it's perfect for this, I can wear it and be several feet in front of the camera (my iPhone) without feeling tethered. The sound quality is great for this purpose, I can hear my voice clearly, and the reader's voice (by the camera) is audible but not too loud (also ideal). For the price, this is amazing value. The only disappointment I have with this microphone is that it says I can use it with my computer, and although I didn't initially buy it for this reason, I discovered a need to do so---and it doesn't work. There is a computer adapted included which I am using, but the computer doesn't seem to recognize the microphone as an external device to the point where I can configure it to use. So minus one star for that.

The cord length is great and it’s definitely good value for an entry level mic. Noise cancellation is better than if I didn’t have the mic plugged into my phone at all, but I can still hear room noise. Sound quality is only marginally louder than if I didn’t have the mic plugged in. One thing I really don’t like is the clip; the photo in the ad shows a flat clip, but the one I received has sharp teeth that damaged my shirt. The flat clip was one of the reasons why I purchased this mic as I thought it would be more clothes-safe.
