I had a major moth infestation secretly taking over the wool lining of the under-bed storage of my king bed. So when I put these traps out and I only saw one or two moths after a week, I thought they don't work at all! I had hundreds of moths that were laying eggs under my bed and elsewhere in the house so killing only one or two a week wasn't going to put a dent in their population. The under-bed wool storage was prime moth real estate! But it was a huge undertaking to remove all the wool lining, so until I had the time to do it, I thought these traps might help in the interim. No, they were useless. Okay, now flash forward to after I removed the wool lining from the bed storage. I also vacuum sealed all our wool clothes, cleaned and stored our wool carpets, etc etc. I would still see a few surviving moths flying around. And that's when the TRAPS WORKED! My theory is that when I had the huge moth utopian breeding real estate under my bed, it probably smelled very strongly like females to the male moths. So they were attracted to that strong scent under the bed. A little dinky synthetic phermone moth trap wasn't going to deter them from the real thing! It's like having an adult video store next door to a brothel. Why bother! But once I removed the main breeding site, the male moths were so desperate to find females and they flocked to the traps and I was able to kill the last remaining moths! Other Tips: My moth infestation was enormous and I refused to use toxic chemicals. I had considered hiring a professional exterminator but all the reviews said the moths come back eventually. I believe this is because they don't do a thorough job. Even if you hire a professional, you still need to bag up and clean all your wool & fur items yourself. It's a ton of work. But even then, moths are crazy resilient and will survive on the tiniest little fur ball of wool debris or pet hair. So if you have pets like I do, then any crack in the baseboard or the space under your appliances likely has a build up of pet hair, maybe some human hair too, and wool sheddings from carpets or clothes. I even found moths breeding inside the filter of my vacuum because it had cat hair and wool carpet sheddings! So to win the war, you need to thoroughly clean all these crevices and spaces regularly for several months. I used a special vacuum hose attachment and a super-sized pipe cleaner to clean under my fridge, stove, dishwasher, laundry machines etc (purchased on amazon). I also vacuumed my wool carpets every week (flipped them over and vacuum the backside as well). Moths don't like to breed on surfaces that are regularly disturbed or exposed to light. So even if you have wool carpets and pillows, just make sure to shake them up every week and vacuum them. Finally, I took diatomaceous earth (or you can use borax powder) and I used a duster (small plastic bottle that puffs the powder) to inject the powder under my appliances, into any crevices or holes in baseboards, and under the toe kick of my kitchen cabinets and bedroom closets. So far this is working great for me and I haven't seen a moth in 2 months. Last note, I used these traps as well as a more expensive trap with a slightly better review by West Bay Retail (on amazon). They both worked after the bed wool removal and they both failed before I addressed the bed wool. But since these were so much more affordable, I stuck with these traps. It's better to use more traps rather than just a few expensive ones especially since they seem to have the same effectiveness.

These work! Cedar blocks were not cutting it at all and I won’t use moth balls. I kept finding little holes in my clothes and would occasionally see a tiny moth flying around. Most of my clothing consists of natural fabrics like linen and cotton and the little buggers were feasting on them. Bought the first box of these about a year ago. For the first couple of months, no action. Then, suddenly I found tiny moth carcasses in the traps and over time more and more! I recently replaced the traps in Feb. and haven’t seen any moths trapped since! I never did locate where the infestation was in my closet, so I will continue to keep these traps in my closets.

I set these up and thought they weren't working at all. I would see a moth on the wall and put the trap around it. The moth had no interest. But then they got interested, and met their doom. I have 3 traps set up and they all have moths in them. They're extremely simple to set up and no stench like mothballs. The only downside is I have to see how many moths I have :( But I'd rather they be in the traps than in my clothes! Pro tip: set a trap up somewhere that you can shine a light into it. They can't resist! I tried another brand with a little scent square that you slip into the triangle. It caught a few moths, but nothing like Ecotastic. I've both these at least 2x. Maybe eventually I'll catch all the little pests, but until that glorious day I'll keep buying these traps.

I bought several different brands of Closet Moth Traps to make sure that I had a decent chance of getting a quality product. I purchased: MaxGuard, Ecotastic, Trap-A-Pest, and Dr Killigan’s I even got a pantry moth trap as well, to verify if I had any of those. Amongst 7 rooms (2 bedrooms, 2 closets and 3 bathrooms) I put multiple brands in each room, with each brand in at least 4 different rooms. For 3 months I’d check every trap once a week. Each trap had more moths than the week before (except for the pantry moth trap – the 4 of those I deployed caught one moth just by chance). The numbers of moths caught in each trap were surprising. No brand failed to catch at least 40 on at least one trap. So now I’m moth-free, right? Wrong. These traps lure in just the male moths. So if any male moth happens to mate with a female before being captured, there’s another fresh batch. I’ve been waging moth war for almost 2 years, and use other trap types as well (zappers, etc). There are a lot fewer of them flying around now, but I just can’t knock them out. I also kept some of each brand, and deployed them 1 year after purchase. NONE of those did well. Out of 16 traps, only 5 moths were caught. So I would recommend buying a new batch of traps every 6 months – deploying half right away, and the other half in 3 months. I checked all boxes for a manufacturing date. None had any on the outside. Dr. Killigan’s had one on the inside flap. Dr. Killigan’s also stated they would be good up to 3 years after manufacture (lies). Recommendations: They are all effective if used right away. Buy the one whose price or design you like. My design preference is MaxGuard and Dr. Killigan’s. If you are not having success, maybe you have different kinds of moths. Or you have expired traps. Hints on use for all brands: Write the date on it before you expose the glue. Bend the cardboard at least a little on the creases before exposing the glue – bending it afterward can cause sticky fingers. When pulling the paper off of the glue, start at one corner and firmly pull towards the opposite corner. Pulling from the center of the top makes it more difficult.

easy to use. Don't last long (3 months) but that seems about the same as most others. When we had a real problem the traps caught tons of moths. Since then we have been keeping the traps around to stop any new infestation (traps don't seem to be 100% effective since a few moths continue to return) and it picks up a few every time. I don't know if they will ever be 100% effective since our house is huge, with closets and clothes and towels and linens and 4 messy kids, but it definitely keeps the population WAY down over the original. One note: they used to come with an obvious second material (the lure) stuck to the adhesive. My last batch came without that second material and I don't know if it was a manufacturing error or they have now built the lure into the adhesive itself. I will update this review if i find out. (I suppose if this new batch of traps never catches a moth, then the lure was missing?). Update: Got in contact with the manufacturer and they confirmed that the lure has been added to the adhesive now, so all is good. Having that confirmation, I am now giving these 5 stars since they do everything I can expect from them.

Product isn’t consistent. I bought this once before and it worked great. This time it was a completely different moth trap and doesn’t work at all.

It's shocking how many moths this caught. I hadn't even realized I had a problem. I do now.

I've bought this product eight times. The most recent batch I received is completely different in look: the traps are now made to be hung, they're white not yellow, they're significantly smaller. I could care less about the color, I don't really like or need the flimsy paper hanging hook, I do not yet know how effective they will prove to be. I don't know if this redesign is disguised shrinkflation, but I am disappointed to have received something materially different from what I ordered and to have been told it's the same.

Excellent, the trap caught a moth on the day that it was placed in the closet!
