Not at all useful
The idea is novel, but sadly the execution was anything but. I bought this model to get my son interested into more technical stuff than just legos. But first the directions were very sketchy and not in proper english, the packaging very basic, and the design made it impossible to turn the light on by just cranking the shaft. The gears were just not big enough to produce enough torque to power the light. The design can be modified but that needs extra stuff that you have to buy, so a big avoid for this.

Excellent for kids to learn
I bought this as an educational toy for my kids - it's brilliant and I think I like it as much as they do!!
