Conn Iggulden Emperor Series, 5 Books Collection Pack Set RRP: £40.95 (The Gods of War, The Gates of Rome, The Death of Kings, The Field of Swords,The Blood of Gods)

Reading the first of the series and as usual Iggulden does not disappoint. Good bedtime reading. All such novels tend to be formulaic, but this is an engaging tale and bodes well for the others. The underlying research into the historical context supports the storyline very well. Historical novels are apparently a diminishing market but as a form of escapism from modern 'civilisation' they do a good job.

I read one by chance so bought the set. Very addictive from start to finish. Very small font though to save paper as they are long books.

Not much to say about the books, excellent written, good story. But the print is very (very) small, that should be indicated. If I had known I wouldn't have bought these.

Ya había leído el primer libro y decidí comprar el resto. Este set incluye el primer libro, pero me salió más barato comprarlo como pack que comprar cada libro por separado. Si hay alguna queja, es que la letra es más pequeña que la del Libro N°1 que compré.

Nice series

I bought it cause I utterly enjoyed his War of the Roses series. But Emperor...well, the fact that he made Brutus the son pf a whore and Caesar's same age just didn't cut it for me. And he also never explained why. Too bad.
