Not the same Matt's any more
Agree with the negative reviews here. Been eating these my whole life. The flavor and texture has changed significantly. No longer are the big soft cookies that were delicious. If you like small stale crumbly cookies then these are for you. They come broken up in the package too because they're so stale in texture. I miss Matt's cookies. I hope they go back to their original recipe again. RIP Matt's.

Crumbly
I have eaten Matts for 30 years used to buy when I lived in Chicago area now living in California purchased couple of months ago they were nearly fresh like Matts is famous for being moist and chewy. These however must of sat in a hot warehouse for awhile they were crumbly and dry even microwave for 15 sec, didn't help. Not sure if I'll take a chance to buy again. Too bad these cookies ROCK when fresh!

So much for the "soft-baked"
It's been a while since I have been soooo disappointed. Chocolate chip cookies are about the only dessert I will waste the calories to eat. I grew up in the Midwest, and was exposed to Matt's Chocolate Chip Cookies when i visited my brother-in-law in Chicago. They were everything I have ever dreamed of in a chocolate chipper. I don't know what lead to my inclination to look on-line, but now, many years later, my search lead me to them on Amazon. But they weren't even close to my memory of them. The ones I received, even though the expiration date stamped on them said "sell by November, 2021" (and this was July), they were anything but "soft-baked". They were dry, and almost chalky. Not as dry as a Chips Ahoy! or an Uncle Amos, but dry. The Matt's I remember were just a few degrees past raw cookie dough. I think these guys sat around in the warehouse a bit too long. I now have four bags of them, and the thrill is gone.I guess I just have to wait until the next time I visit Chicago, and see if I can get them fresh at Dominic's or another direct retailer.

Old Stale Back Stock - Even if You Liked Them, These Are Not the Cookies You Remember
This is apparently the dumping grounds for Matt's old, stale back stock that they can't get rid of otherwise. AND it's non-returnable. I lived in Chicago and Matt's cookies are awesome when fresh; what I received was an old, stale, crumbly, non-soft version of their cookie - 5 packs that expire in less than 2 months (received early-mid September out of date November 2021). If you know how long cookies last you understand just how old these probably are.Better to throw your back stock away then erode your brand like this. If these were the Matt's cookies I remember I very easily could have become a life-long customer, now I'll never buy them again unless I'm in Chicago (and maybe not even then, how), which means I'll probably never buy them again. Good job, Matt's - I was a dedicated customer in Chicago you managed to turn me into a never-again-customer.

Soft and delicious cookies
We had these cookies before when visiting family in Chicago area. Happy to be able to order them online - came in 2 days. Looked fresh and not disappointed at all. The ones we ate straight out of the bag were soft and delicious. I also put some other ones for couple seconds in the microwave before serving: yes try it out - ridiculously good.

Just don't bother! You'll get raisin oatmeal
Just don't bother! They are NOT chocolate chip but oatmeal raisin. They are NOT refundable. I ordered an entire case since you can't find it in store but nope all are raisin. Just a way for them to get rid of unwanted garbage. Who on earth eats oatmeal raisin 🥴

Very good cookies. Bad shipping
I grew up eating Matt's cookies. They are soft and chewy and don't have chemical taste like Keebler Soft Batch. I can't find Matt's cookies in Arizona so I ordered them from Amazon. Unfortunately they arrived as crumbs. There might be 2 to 4 cookies per package that are unbroken. But I'm not here to review shipping. I'm here to review the quality and taste of these cookies. In my opinion, they are the best available from a large cookie company. They don't use butter but use an oil blend. That may take away from the taste you might be used to when eating homemade cookies but these are still worth it!

They really got bad....look at other companies.
I used to love the oatmeal raisin cookies. Had them for years everyday...and I mean everyday. They were large, tasty and soft. All of a sudden in the last month or so, all the ones I got were 40% smaller and very dry. Flavor took a huge dive. I contacted support to see whats up, but not a word back. So, they could care less. If I wanted a dry cookie, I sure wouldn't spend this kind of money. I'll never buy them again!
