Dualit 83830 Professional Electric Blender

ive been using the Dualit blender on a daily basis for the past 30 days for smoothies alone. Initial issues were minor being the removable blade base coming loose while in use and some odd loose bit of plastic inside the motor base itself.However its performance is top notch! The ice crush function is the main focus for me. It literally obliterates ice. One push of the button and it cycles off and on to crush the ice in a pulse type action. Its making heavily iced smoothies with bananas and strawberries as fine in texture as a Slurpee. Its even pulverizing most of the tiny strawberry seeds.There are suction cup feet on the bottom to lock it in place on a smooth counter. This is both an annoyance and helpful at times. I can see these suction cups breaking off from long term regular usage if you are to store the unit after each use.The two part design of the jar as mentioned can be a messy ordeal if not properly seated and sealed. For clean up its a great idea but for longevity this feature remains to be seen. Once a thread or the seat is damaged, the jar would be useless or would need to be permanently sealed.The jar itself isnt glass. Its a plastic feeling material called Triton. If I had to guess without being told its Triton I would call it plastic. For those that have been using blenders for decades know glass just isnt ideal for daily real world use for a blender jar.For the full retail price im not certain I would have purchased this as $250 is crazy money when it comes to blenders. There are models out there for less with more powerful motors. I picked mine up at a reasonable discount as an open box item. It does perform and perform top notch. Its simple to use and seems very well built in an era where quality and longevity are a different language in retail. If this blender lasts ten years then the price is justified. Time will tell.Two month update, Added pics of a smoothie consisting of a full basket of fresh strawberries, two large bananas, a yogurt cup, approx eight oz of juice, half the blender container full of ice. As prior mentioned, its the consistency of a Slurpee with nearly all strawberry seeds pulverized. Unlike all previous blenders ive ever had/used, this is the only one ive ever been able to push a single button and have the blender do what its supposed to do with no other manual help.

Chops ice like a Pro for my frozen treats. Saved soooo much money this summer with my Grands Making our own Sorbet, frozen smoothies, slurpees, milk shakes, ice cream, Italian ice, etc. Was pleasantly surprised & impressed by the substantial size.. A good look for the kitchen.
