Best Option for Custom Setup
Chose this over the other guys that were double the price. For me the ability to customize the location was what sold me. My studs are not on center and this worked great.Cons:- the plastic covers that go over the wall support brackets are a pain to put on and stay on flush.- The other thing I don't like is the cheap foam covers over the pull down handles. The feel like a Nerf child's toy. I have a sleek setup and the covers are kind of cheesey.

good concept
Good Concept, bad execution, lots was not considered or thought about.Directions are terrible, the template doesn't match the actual product so beware before drilling holes!!The 5 degree tilt screw/nub is a built in screw, you can pull it out to realign and push it back in to engage the screw.I feel the hooks for the TV can be slightly deeper, the angle of the hook looks dangerous, especially if tilting down.

Not just for over the mantel
I bult a frame to in a corner of room vs over a mantel to watch tv a eye level and it is just great. The only problem with placing the unit was turning lock nobs which pop in and out to hole the unit in place. This was not adequately explained in the youtube video or the paper instructions. Thee are springs in each nob that turn clock and counter clockwise which frustrated us . it is very easy to move the unit up and down .

Hard to set up, but worth it
Took a lot of time to set up. Instructions are a little difficult to understand, and some tasks are more precarious than you'd hope (I suggest having 3 people when you're ready to put the TV on the mount) and boy is everything heavy. But once it's on the wall it's awesome!

Easier than we thought would be to put up...Just take your time and measure well. Strong quality, secure attachment. Really liking the versatility of this mount!

Almost perfect and I love it.
This TV stand mounted my tv above the fireplace and I love it. It cleared out so much more space in the living room and I can move the tv to any position of my liking so I don’t have to move my furniture around to fit the tv. Love the tactical handle bars used to move the tv and the industrial look. The reason for only 4 stars is because the instructions weren’t very clear about how to tighten the tilt of the tv, but we were able to figure it out. You have to pop these levers outwards(see picture) bring it to be top and then push in and pull the lever downwards and keep doing that until it tightens(popping it outwards, pushing in and pull it downwards/upwards). The levers on my tv were opposites, so one tightened going upwards and the other side tightened downwards. Other than that it’s perfect. Hope this helps!

Most out of the box flexible solution
This is the only pull down mantel mount that includes the ability to span multiple stud layouts. This is important, because there are no clear instructions how to retrofit the other options out there w/o purchasing extension bars. The 50300 is very limited for this reason.As is true in another review, the paper template is NOT accurate. I also found the screws supplied for the TV brackets to be much shorter than I've ever seen for TV's this size - plan on making a trip to the hardware store. Finally, the pull down bar is a cheap foam and should be longer to fit the larger tv's this mount was designed for.The pull down mount is shipped w/ a setting of ~50lbs, which is what most 60in TV's weigh these days, so it required no adjustment out of the box.Overall, this product works well and the motion is smooth.
