Review: Great But ROOMY - The jacket is very well made and very warm. Admittedly, I bought it in memory of my granddad who wore chore coats. I almost love it; but itโs way roomy. Iโm 5โ11โ and 195. I mostly wear XL and sometimes L depending on the brand, cut, etc. I ordered L based on other feedback and itโs still too roomy. Any more and Iโd send it back, but not enough to try a M. On the upside, plenty of room if this is going on top of another jacket; but do that and I think youโd burn up anywhere outside of Alaska. Hopefully it will shrink with time. If so, it will be close to right. Update: I just washed it and it shrunk a nice amount. At this point it's a fuzz too big and will perfect with time. I'm bumping it from 4 stars to 5. Also, I read other reviews who said Dry Clean only. The tag said it was OK to machine wash. I do recommend an extra rinse cycle as the blue dye really bleeds with the first washing. Update #2: After wearing it for two years, what can I sayโฆ. I absolutely love it. Fits perfect (one size down) and comfortable for chores. Itโs hard to imagine ever wearing it out. If so, Iโll buy another exactly like it. Review: Truly a coat for the working man. Warm and sturdy. - An excellent investment, it will most likely outlast me. Heavy, unwashed indigo denim, a fine, warm horse blanket lining, quilted sleeve liners and hidden cuffs to keep out the wind. Bomb proof stitching, high, flexible collar to turn up against those freezing Northeast winds, patch pockets are solid, a wonderful coat. Although it has been called "roomy" by several reviewers, after the first good wash, it will most likely shrink considerably, as mine (size XL) has. I recommend a good wash on the heavy cycle for the extra rinse and a slow dry on low (it is NOT dry clean only. The tag supplies washing instructions). Unless it's badly soiled, I recommend washing again only at the end of the season, before storing. It is cotton and as so, will shrink and become less resilient with each wash. All in all, I HIGHLY recommend this coat to any men and women who work outdoors. Leave the $400 versions for the posers to wear while sipping lattes. This bad boy is for folks with calloused hands and dirty nails. BUY ONLY FROM A REPUTABLE SELLER!!!

Truly a coat for the working man. Warm and sturdy.

nice coat
this is a very nice looking coat and looks to be very well made. i havnt worn it in cold weather yet however it has a bit of heft and i trust other reviews im sure its going to be warm. i will update in autumn and winter for warmth. the pockets are big yet they have no closures, snaps would be nice i may put some on myself. i still rate 5 stars because it is a very nice looking jacket and apears to be high quality. it was delivered quickly and fit is perfect. i like it alot. Update 2014 winter. Its warm, i love this coat and wear it all the time with my dickies bibs. Not only does the coat look great its been keeping me warm in the single digit temps. Nice colllar, fold it up keep back of neck warm, this coat, a thermal or fleece shirt, a and a scarf and you are good to go in very cold weather. The pockets are big enough to hole a pair of glove, im glad the pockets dont have any closures. I was thinking another button at the bottom front would be good, but no. That unbuttoned lenght maked for essy entry and exit from a vehicle. The blanket lining is just plain cool. I love this coat.

Exceptional Coat at the Price
This coat is exceptional in quality and appearance. Upon receiving the coat, I tried it on and was relieved that it, in fact, fit me. Secondly, the material was very stiff so I washed it twice and the Levi material softened up a great deal and (unfortunately for me) it conformed very well to my physique. To the plus side, there were no mysterious and extraneous strings revealing themselves everywhere. I rated the coat a 4 Star because after washing the coat, the collar became flaccid: the edges were curled and it felt as though it had no material substance. This will be bad news if the collar is raised to stave off wind, rain, snow, etc. The corduroy material used in the collar negates lightly pressing it with an iron. Any suggestions? Finally, a warning for those who suffer from arthritis or RA: this product is not for you. The coat uses buttons and the button holes are rather constricted requiring fairly strong finger strength and dexterity to button and unbutton. Overall a good buy for the price.

Great chore coat
Purchased this coat a few weeks ago and arrived on time. I really like this coat it looks good and will last a long time. Like others have mentioned the coat is big depending on your size. I wear a 2x Carhartt and purchased this denim coat as a 2x. When trying on the coat it was pretty big and hung off me, arms were a bit long and lots of room in te stomach and chest area. I washed/dried the coat as recommended by the manufacturer (did this twice) and there was some shrinking of the denim so the coat now fits better. If you buy one of these coats you might think about buying a smaller one to try and return if it does not fit.

Simple and sturdy.
Exactly what I've been looking for. I usually wear an XL garment and this one fits well. A simple denim coat with a lining. It has four outside patch pockets and one inside pocket. The lining is a blanket looking synthetic and the outside is 100% cotton. I think Dickies is the only manufacturer left making this. I did an extensive search and couldn't find anything except some "vintage designer" brands costing several hundred dollars. It's a great coat for doing outside work in and not worry about tearing a $200 nylon quilted down coat. We've washed it a couple of times so far to loosen it up a bit and it hasn't shrunk.

Quality
This coat arrived new and very stiff. Like new jeans after a few washings it gets a lot more comfortable. Mine I ordered was and is made of great quality . I will buy again in the future .

Quality workwear.
I am very pleased with this chore coat. I am 5 feet 10 inches tall and weigh 195 lbs. and the large fits well. Just enough room in the shoulders to allow for freedom of movement while working. However, I almost didn't buy this coat as in Amazon's description it says it must be dry cleaned. This is incorrect. The instruction label for cleaning that is attached to the coat says wash in cold water and tumble dry. Nothing about having dry cleaned.
