Remarkable value at $15, not a polishing stone
I like King stones because they are inexpensive and get the job done. I'm particularly partial to my old 1000/6000 King Deluxe Stone (KDS) version, this link is to the modern version https://www.amazon.com/King-Combination-Waterstone-1000-KING/dp/B01N6I37HZ.A couple things you might want to know:1. This stone is permanently affixed to its plastic base. This is convenient if you don't have a stone holder but makes it take up a lot more room and you remove the identifying marks the first time you flatten it.2. This is NOT a finishing/polishing stone. It's a good enough 6000-grit stone, plenty good enough for knives and maybe even preferable, but it does not produce a mirror finish. The grit of a polishing stone, as I understand it, starts fine, like 6000, but then breaks down into even smaller particles as you work it, especially as a section of the stone becomes dryer, and produces a mirror finish without requiring a third or fourth stone for that job. You start these stones soaked, same as any traditional water stone, but without much water on the surface. As you work the edge the water is pushed over the edge and/or soaks in and the surface becomes dryer. You work the edge for a minute or two until the stone surface becomes dryer and stickier and black marks begin to appear on the stone surface. This is the point when polishing happens and you get a mirror finish. The 6000-grit side of my KDS stone is a polishing stone. This one however is not. It works perfectly well for reducing 800 or 1000 grit scratches, but does not appear to break down in the same way and does not produce a mirror finish. So it has uses in a collection of stones but is not a good final stone for woodworking sharpening, which is my primary purpose.Still, for $15 it's a great deal and I'm plenty satisfied with it.

Great stone. Great case. What's not to like?
Just as expected from King.I have a few of their stones and have zero complaints. This one here is great for bringing a new edge to worn or damaged knives. The 220 grit side if pretty vicious.I like having the small step from 220 to 800 in one stone. It makes for a convenient start to a wicked sharp knife.I also like the 'integrated' storage case. Thick plastic with removable top and a thin rubber pad between the base and the stone and rubber feet on the bottom of the base. What's not to like?

KING Whetstone: A Quick and Dirty First Look
so this King thing? It's a double-sided water stone, right? You got your rough side, like, #800, for when your knife's totally jacked up. Then flip it, and boom, #6000 for that crazy-sharp, sushi-chef level finish. Thing's chunky, like almost two pounds, and comes with a plastic base, which is kinda nice. Gotta soak it before you use it, like, duh. They say it's for carbon steel, so keep that in mind. Basically, if your blades are dull as dirt, or you need that razor edge, this thing's supposed to get the job done. It's made in Japan, so you know, they're serious about their sharp. Sounds decent, but haven't actually tried it myself. This review represents my personal opinion and experience with this product. hard to true and wears really easy when truing and still cant get it to be %100 flat
really hard to true it,it did work to sharpen my knife, i used the 800 grit side and it worked fine. The problem came when i finished and wanted to true it so that it was flat, i marked it with a sharpie like i do my other whetstone and started to use my truing stone on it and i noticed that the center part of it still had the sharpie marks on it the sides were gone but then on closer inspection i noticed that it seemed to have like center dip spent almost 5-10 min going back and forth with my truing stone and couldn't seem to remove the marks from the center of the stone so i gave up washed the mud of it then looked at the side profile and noticed that the stone was at an angle -.- the left side was higher that the right so the 800 side is now a wedgemaking it unusable unless i mange to straighten it out again.i dont see how i even managed to true that much of one side when i applied equal pressure to it and used it on its base that it came with so i dont know if it was already like that before use since i dint look at the side profile of itand if i did manage to scrape that much on the first use then the quality of it is horribleive had my other whetstone for months used it 3 times a week trued it every time i used it and is still straight and flat

Great combination starter stone for initial sharpening
This was a great combination stone providing a very course medium stone 220 grit and a smoother plain medium stone 800 grit the stand that it comes with is really nice and stable with a plastic hardshell cover for storage. I used it to get a knife that i have had for 15 years but needed a new edge as it had some chips on the blade edge not major but enought that it needed to be worked out I used the japanese method on sharpening a knife that you work it up and down moving along the knife edge insted of dragging the whole knife edge on each pass. It woked really great and took down my knife to a new edge then proceded to the opposite side of the 800 grit then to a 1000 grit this is similar to the one I have but i bought mine years ago King Medium Grain Sharpening Stone - #1000 - S and finishing it on a 6000 grit with a nagura stone 8000 grit slurry on it King Japanese Grit 6000 Sharpening Stone S-45/HT-43 and King #8000 Nagura Stone : Bundle - 2 Items. All were the King brand stones and did a wonderful job i feel like my knife is even better then it was when i first purchased it mirror fisnish on it a cuts everyting like butter. Great stones especially for the price.
