Good whetstone
Does the job well. A very good grit for utility blades. Coarse enough to work a dull edge and fine enough for a superb cutting edge.

Is what I was looking for
I see that many people rate this badly. I have had this stone for years and do use it to sharpen my knives (Japanese or otherwise) and it works just fine. It is not an easy thing to use and, unless you spend the time methodically, it is easier to take your knives to a butcher to use. But, I did receive the stone that is pictured in the link.
