Yankee Candle "Midsummers Night" Pillar Candle, Black, Medium

I bought this Ebony and Oak medium candle jar from Yankee Candle at a vastly reduced price of £7.99. The candle was well-packaged in a rigid walled box, inside the regular Amazon carton. On opening the jar, this smells amazing: a woody and quite traditional combination that suggests an expensive aftershave. Lit, this doesn't emit as much scent as expected or as much as previous Yankee Candle purchases have: it hardly smells at all unless you're standing right next to it.The jar is well made. The label is pretty. The candle wax is a sandy beige shade that would go with any decor, and the subtle, masculine scent could be used year-round, though the acorn and cone image on the label suggests an autumn/winter pairing.The candle burns evenly and without tunneling - if you follow the suggested care guidelines on the manufacturer website. It's a shame that a simple set if directions isn't included. The candle needs to burn for one hour per inch of diameter, until the whole of the surface is liquid, and should be extinguished after a maximum of 4 hours. After burning, the wick should be trimmed to 1/8". So far, following these directions keep the candle burning very uniformly.

The candle scent is fantastic, it has a very masculine vibe (clean aftershave type scent) and looks great in the large pillar. The candles burn time is impressive and it lasted me for a good few months of burning, the biggest disappointment I had with the candle is that the projection of the scent is mediocre by comparison to some of the other Yankee candles I’ve owned, it’s by no means terrible but leans to a more subtle type scent rather than in your face. Good candle though and will buy again but waiting for it to go back on offer as full retail is a tad expensive.

Love the smell but dont burn long enough, and burns unevenly, leaves quite a bit of wax behind.

Nice smell - but obviously the wrong size wick (too small) because the diameter of the melt pool is only half the diameter of the actual candle meaning that at least half the wax in the candle won’t be usedI might’ve expected this with cheaper candles - but I definitely didn’t expect it with Yankee Candles.Very disappointed.

Love the smell of this one. Used it to replace one that you could get any more and was pleased with it. I also want to let people know that I normally dont like the one wick candles as they don't burn evenly but these do so if you are like me you won't be disappointed.

This is my friends favorite candle so pleased to have found it on amazon.

Initially was a little unsure on the smell, once it’s lit it smells lovely & it has a really strong throw for a medium sized candle. Would buy again if on offer (2nd time bought now). Packaged really well
