National Hardware N101-659 25 Swinging Door Latch in Zinc Plated

I needed the version of this latch with the longer shaft on the handle, to work with my thicker door. The local stores did not carry it, so Amazon to the rescue!Well-made, looks good and works nicely. I might have gotten the stainless steel version for a few bucks more, but it would outlast the barn by far!

It is impossible to do a review of an item when Amazon cancelled the order on some flimsy excuse. Now Amazon refuses to publish this review because it is critical of Amazon.I’m sure the door handle is of excellent quality and function, but I’ll never know. Amazon took my order but apparently discovered they actually did not have the item to deliver. I was able to reorder from a reputable site so Amazon’s failure is only a delay in my project. Still, thanks loads, Amazon.

We have used these now for about 6-7 months on our chicken coop doors. They are holding up well. They hold the door open without releasing during storms and high winds. They are tough enough to yank on when the doors swell with humidity and need to pull hard to open. They look nice too, not too bulky.

If you're looking for the version of this latch that will fit a 3" thick door - this is the one you need. I used zinc hinges so the latch was a good color match. I'm happy with the build quality. All of the metal is thick and the spring is strong.

I installed this gate latch on the door under my deck. I replaced a latch that would lock on the outside but could not be unlocked from the inside, which was not safe. I needed the extra long shaft to get through the decking board and a 2x4 support. All in all a very good latch for my application. I attach 3 photos because I had trouble understanding how this latch was to be installed due to limited description.

Used this as a door latch/handle on a storage shed. Worked great
