I've used these with sushi, fried foods and salads without any problems. They handle small amounts of liquids and sauces pretty well and they don't seem through. I also found them to have a layer inside that makes them relatively grease resistant. I reuse whenever I can especially if can b easily wiped clean or very lightly soiled as they do last well. They're not leak proof but will take on a good portion of food in each compartment.
