Very good coffee! **Q: What is the grind texture; coarse, medium, fine? Is this appropriate for use with a "pour-over" brewing system?** A: I would describe it as medium/fine. I use it only in a vacuum coffee maker and it is perfect for that. **Q: The reviews say this is ground fine. Is it ground to fine to use in an old fashioned stove top peculator without using a paper filter?** A: You need to use filter paper as some grounds will flow through the holes in the peculator cup. When using filter paper, rapid boiling may cause excessive water circulation that may overflow the cup and allow the fine grounds to get into your coffee. I have found that the fine ground coffee needs a slower addition of hot water as the grounds do swell and offer some resistance to flow. On one of my 12 cup electric coffee makers, I make only 6 cups to avoid over flow of some grounds while another 12 cup electric coffee maker I can make 8 to 10 cups without any grounds overflowing. Dallmayr is an excellent coffee which we have used for several years and tastes good hot or cold. I am not sure how our family in Germany brew the Dallmayr coffee as they serve it in a carafe but you might consider buying the beans and grinding your own to continue using your stove top peculator. **Q: What about the expiration date since you're not really finishing a 6pack in a jiffy ??** A: The expiration date is usually up to almost a year, and once you open it, I keep my coffee in an airtight container...
