**Q: Hi, I dont see a hole in the handle where I could string this tool up, but I would be afraid to toss it in a drawer, does it come with protector cover**
A: It doesn't come with a whole in the handle, however it is a fantastic tool...I keep mine in a pencil case that I bought at walmart...it holds it perfectly...plastic case with a zipper.  Makes beautiful cuts on breads, but also use it in pasta making.  I suppose you could just fashion a cover out of sturdy cardboard.  Definitely something to NOT "just toss in a drawer".

**Q: How do you keep the blade from coming off?**
A: You bend the blade, which is quite flexible, between your thumb and index finger and then slide the handle into the cutouts on the blade.  The blade's tension holds the handle in place securely.  The lame comes with instructions showing how to do this.  It's quite easy.

**Q: Does it come with 5 blades total? Or 1 blade on the lame and 5 extra blades, so 6 total? Thanks!**
A: 5 blades total

**Q: What kind of replacement blades does it take, and where are they available?**
A: It uses the old doubled edged blades.  You can find those easily in any drugstore: Walgreens, CVS, Rite-Aid, etc.  FYI, this bread lame comes ready to use with a few blades already!

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Very functional despite bad instructions and ugly design

I think the design of this lame is a bit silly and I don't like the huge logo on it (i'm planning to scrape it off). I also think the metal post is too thick which makes it difficult to slip the blade on the end. Otherwise it is a simple lame that works exactly as it should. I like this metal post style lame a lot better than the many plastic versions avaliable. I do think the provided instructions for putting on the blade are insufficient so I made a video showing how I put on the blade - this should help keep your blade from popping off the end while you are scoring. PS. I forgot to mention in the video but if you are still having trouble making nice cuts, especially on thicker doughs, try pinching the blade with your thumb and index finger while scoring (see pic) and put on a fresh blade! :)
