We have a small master bedroom with limited space on each side of our bed so I was looking for something narrow enough to still allow us to get in and out of bed but keep him right next to us. The mesh sides are great because we can see him without having to get up and look over the top of the bassinet. This bassinet was easy to set up and held up great to being moved around the house a lot the first few months. The only downside I found was that it was hard to find sheets that fit the size and shape of the mattress...especially sheets that are a thicker fabric for our winter babe. The mattress pad is water proof so it was pretty cold to the touch in the winter. Eventually we figured out that our cover for the snuggle me infant lounger fit perfectly over the mattress pad. Even better that they are an envelope style cover so they can't accidentally slip off like a fitted sheet. The fabric for the snuggle me covers is nice and thick, easy to put on and off, and washable, but they are a little pricey. There are several knock off covers available on amazon that are soft, and offer prints too, but they are a thinner fabric and stretchy so they don't fit quite as tight, but we still like them. This bassinet is perfect for our space, and our 6-week-old daughter sleeps well in it. Unlike a lot of the other bassinets at this price point, which are portable "travel bassinets," this is very sturdy and feels like a real piece of furniture. I love that it has mesh sides, because although I always place my daughter in the middle on her back, she has a habit of curling on her side and often ends up with her face near the mesh wall. It's also a nice, sophisticated looking object. This is far from the most important thing, but it's a nice bonus that it looks nice in an adult's bedroom.The only downside is that it only comes with one sheet, and in my experience (due to middle of the night blowouts) you need more than one.
