desertcart.com: Thunderbolts Omnibus Vol. 1 (Thunderbolts (1997-2003)) eBook : Busiek, Kurt, Stern, Roger, Casey, Joe, David, Peter, Ostrander, John, Kesel, Karl, Kesel, Barbara Randall, Bagley, Mark, Bagley, Mark, Johnson, Jeff, Frenz, Ron, Manco, Leonardo, Epting, Steve, Deodato, Mike, Buscema, Sal, Ferry, Pasqual, Perez, George: Kindle Store Review: A Story of Identity and Optimism - I have vaguely heard of the thunderbolts team here and there through marvel events, however I picked this book up on a whim and it completely blew me out of the water. The opening twist drew me in and upped the stakes and seeing the villains given center screen you really got to see them at their most vulnerable. By the halfway point I was completely hooked I have never ripped through an Omnibus this fast. I also found out at the art was done by one of the artists who worked on the marvel universe and I can tell his distinct and fun art style bring this story alot of flare. He also made some fun choices like in a prison scene it feels like a complete different comic and gets a horror flare that really makes the scene ooze with tenseness in this lengthy scene. That said I cannot wait for volume 2 for come out and love some of the moves the omnibus collections have and they can keep on coming!!! Review: A must have if you love comics! - This contain one of the best twist in the comics history! Looking forward for the volume 2 coming in february 2022!

A Trip Back in Time
I remember how ground breaking this book was when it originally came out. Yes it is dated but a good read overall.

Q**.
One of the greats
If you have not read these comics or have no knowledge of the Thunderbolts, this is the best way to get into it. In a time when the big two were spitting out comics that were quantity over quality, Busiek managed to write a story that breaks barriers and grips the reader issue to issue. I can't say a lot more without spoiling the book, but the first issue is one of the best plot twists ever written in comics and the narrative from there just gets better and better. The art is also peak Mark Bagley, but some don't like his art. I'm in the camp that loves it, so all in all, this omnibus is one of the best reads I've read from Marvel probably ever. Looking forward to Volume 2

The Hype Is Real
One of my most wanted Omnibuses to be made and it finally became real. The Thunderbolts concept was a interesting one with Villain's becoming Hero's but that trope has been going on for awhile with the likes of Bendis and his Dark Avengers series (P.S. Best Avengers story ever by the way) and (Reminders and Ellis Thunderbolts which was eh IMA ) But anyways if you want something nostalgic and great from the 90's era of comics get this.

Intriguing concept.... lackluster execution
The concept of the Thunderbolts is a very intriguing one. The idea that a group of villains come together when the world's heroes have disappeared to stage a plan take control only to have members within have a change of heart is a genuinely great premise with wonderful potential. Unfortunately, that potential is not well executed. I'll lead with the flaws: This title suffers from an unfortunate result of being relatively unpopular. Often when titles aren't very popular and the writing lackluster, a rehashing of the characters will occur every other issue. In this Thunderbolts Omnibus, expect to have them express to you the very basics of the group ad nauseum. This is unfortunately what many unpopular comics do when they are struggling and hoping to get new readership. Additionally, they'll bring in other important characters to try and "beef up" the team. Avengers, Ironman, Captain America, Hawkeye, several attempts to re-up this team in the 30ish issues. Writing overall is bland as well. There is often rather boring situations or random successes which occur and ultimately, makes it feel like a fan fiction story. I did state that there was a great premise here. That does go into some of the stories. Characters like Mach-1 are very interesting in concept and are among the better aspects of the story but still don't punch as hard as they should. The first issues of the comic are indeed the best and even characters such as Techno are quite intriguing until the plot goes quickly C grade. At the end of it all, little happens in this Omnibus outside of the initial premise. It's a shame too because I really did want this to pan out to be most excellent. I can only assume those who enjoy this story do so with a full dose of nostalgia but frankly I recognize why I didn't jump in when it first came out... it simply isn't worth the time.

Tenho mais de 30 anos como leitor de quadrinhos e este é certamente uma das melhores coisas que já li. Ação do início ao fim, reviravoltas incríveis, ótimos desenhos e muitas referências a Marvel Clássica.
