Buy Calculus and Mathematical Reasoning for Social and Life Sciences by Cooper (author) (ISBN: 9781524924348) from desertcart's Book Store. Everyday low prices and free delivery on eligible orders. Review: Doesn't really teach you a lot. Does not explain to the point of understanding. Review: I teach college calculus and this is the worst book I've ever seen. It tries to "water down" the difficulty of calculus but ends up confusing a very straight forward subject. Yes, calculus can be difficult but this book makes it nearly impossible to simply learn it. Any college that uses this for their class is clearly not even looking at this book carefully, or more likely, they employ the author and are obligated to use it. It is a horrible book and this author should be ashamed of himself. He still uses the "x" symbol for multiplication. Didn't we do away with that in fifth grade? This is college calculus; stop trying to make it touchy-feely and just teach the subject. So, in summary.... if you can avoid using this book, please do.
