The Stokke Steps high chair represents a significant investment, but after months of daily use, I can confidently say it's one of the best purchases we've made for our family. This isn't just a high chair for infants—it grows with your child from 6 months through early childhood, offering genuine versatility. The ergonomic design is immediately apparent. The chair properly supports my child's back and posture during meals in a way that standard high chairs don't. The adjustable features allow customization as my child grows, ensuring comfort at every stage. The solid beech wood construction feels premium and will clearly stand up to years of use, making it an heirloom-quality piece rather than disposable furniture. Setup and cleaning are surprisingly convenient. The tray is easy to remove for washing, and the overall design minimizes food accumulation in crevices. The safety features are robust without being complicated. My only minor observation is that it does require more space than traditional high chairs, so ensure you have adequate room in your dining area. This chair has completely changed our family's mealtimes—my child sits comfortably, and I feel confident in the safety and support it provides. While the price point is higher than standard high chairs, the longevity, quality, and the years of use ahead make this an outstanding value. This chair is the perfect chair - we have two of them in all black. We have a 4 year old and a 1.5 year old now, and I wanted matching chairs we would use through their teen years, that would easily convert, that weren't the tripp trapp chair that I didn't love (the flat bench-seat made our toddler lose track of his location often and he would stand up briefly then sit back down in the wrong spot and fall from the chair, no such issues with this chair because of the curved base). Easy to clean, with an optional tray. I also wanted to use suction cup bowls and the textured surface on this chair's tray had me agonizing over the purchase for weeks. It's our second and we used suction cup bowls a lot with our first. So I bought the tray separately in case I hated it and wanted to return it but we love it. What I forgot was that with a removable washable tray you barely use plates with kids until they're a lot older. So from 10m - 18m we've been using this chair everyday and we love it. We disconnected the shoulder harness straps once he didn't need the support and just use the three point harness since it's equally secure and the extra straps were annoying. It's gorgeous, easy to convert when we have guests over with an older kid who needs the chair, and easy to clean. I have three tiny complaints that I don't feel like any other chair accomplishes any better but worth mentioning in case design team reads reviews. 1. I wish the crotch buckle were rigid, and "part" of the frame of the baby seat so I wouldn't have to fish for it under him. He doesn't like being buckled in and fishing for the crotch buckle sometimes means I'm too lazy to actually buckle him. 2. the harness buckle works great but I try to snap it in upside down a surprising amount, so I think the shape could be made more obvious as to which is up and which is down. It's obvious at first, but once it's twisted around a wriggling toddler it becomes harder to be sure while you're trying to buckle him. 3. Our baby is 20th percentile and he didn't touch the highest footrest setting for several months, and we got it when he was already 10 months. If the footrest could click in with little "legs" that raised the actual rest another three inches, and if it could go either way (up or down from click in) then you could add a lot more adjustability to the footrest and enable it to actually work for the critical anxious parent stage of early eaters. *Worth noting that for us, suction cup bowls have totally worked fine on the tray, probably not as strongly as on a flat surface but still well enough for our adamant baby to keep trying. *also worth noting about the tray (even though this version doesn't come with the tray) the grooves where it locks in can hold a small amount of water so our routine is washing it after dinner then letting it air dry over night. Nothing crazy wet. Also it's super easy to wipe down, our now 18m old does it himself.

My 6mo baby loves it, her grandma loves it for her, and I absolutely love it. I did a lot of research before landing on this one. Do your research before buying a high chair! This serves every function I was looking for - supports 90/90 degree rule, has an adjustable seat and a foot tray, is super easy to clean, grows with a child, looks amazing. Not cheap but was worth every penny.

Shipping was delayed which was fine, but they forgot the baby set. Had to email, file a claim, and wait another week for what I bought a month prior. Good thing I wasn't in a rush. Chair itself is great- I used Ikea Antilop with a footrest previously but the footrest was not stable as it moved further down the chair legs. Steps footrest is SO sturdy- my 9 month old stood on the footrest (hands on baby seat) to reach for food! I also sat in the chair before the baby set came and felt secure in it. It's easy to wipe & disassemble the seat to wash.

While I absolutely love the look, feel and sturdiness of the high chair. It’s incredibly disappointing that silicone feeding bowls and plates do not stick to the food tray! It makes baby messing weening a little challenging as I have to sit and hold the bowl so my son doesn’t toss his meal overboard. Sometimes I just place food directly on the tray, however I do want him to get use to eating his food off of a plate or out of a bowl. Aside from that this high chair is top notch. Durable and very very easy on the eyes, if that matters to you stop thinking about this chair and get it! My son is a big boy and very strong for his age. Although the manages to rock the chair he has not been apple to tip it over. That would be a nightmare! All in all totally love the chair, a little pricey but I say worth it.

We love this chair! It keeps our little one completely upright while she is eating, is easy to wipe down, the cover comes off easily to throw in the wash and love that we could attach her Stokke bouncer on top while she was little! Only con is the tray isn’t completely smooth so suction plates etc. don’t really work.

I love this chair because it fits well under our dinner table. The only issues I had are: there is a lot of space in the baby seat. When baby is eating is very easy to drop food in between baby and tray. The straps are hard to remove and get so dirty everyday to the point where I removed them. I think this chair is a better fit for 1 year old babies up until 5 years old. For small babies is a bit big and a hassle to clean.
