Having recently been fighting a losing battle with a trailing ivy plant that's gotten seriously out of hand the past few years, I'm hoping this weed barrier fabric will help me win the day (or at least slow down the epic growing speed of the ivy). I've cut back as much as possible, and have put the weed fabric down, and topped it with bark chippings. It looks amazing, beautifully tidy and nothing like the unruly mess it was just a week ago. It's very easy to put down, literally lay it like a blanket, then I secured the edges with old tent pegs and poured the bark chippings on. Time will tell if the ivy can find a way through, but I have hope. This weed barrier has planting holes in it - so if you don't need the holes look for a different product. I laid mine overlapping to cover the holes. Good value for money, especially if it's going to be effective in keeping my garden looking good.
