Beautiful, Balanced, Effective
I have the 8” knife but needed a quality pairing knife. The craftsmanship of these products are remarkable. The balance of the knives are unparalleled. Love the Damascus steel too! I have no problem recommending this product and others from this manufacturer.

Every kitchen needs a top-notch paring knife
In my opinion, you only need a few knives to really have a great cooking experience. Among them as a high-quality paring knife. I needed to replace one that was lost from my long-term set. I’m an avid home cook and rely heavily on my knife skills for chopping vegetables and other preparation. This particular knife is absolutely amazing. Well balanced, wonderful steel in the blade. I like the size of it. The summit may seem a little on the heavy side, but it fits my body habitus and strength very well and I’m just absolutely delighted with it. I would advise anybody to buy this. It’s an excellent price for the quality of the product. I also would advise anybody who buys it to be. Very careful when you first open it. It truly arrives razor-sharp!

Great kitchen staple
Nicely weighted knife, sharp and precise edge, get handle grip, good for everyday use, well constructed, would highly recommend as a kitchen staple but not to be compared with high end German or Japanese products. Competitive pricing for quality.

Got Sharp?
Waited awhile to post a review on this paring knife to see if it holds an edge. It does hold on to its sharpness a long time, have not sharpened it yet after many uses. Truly worth its cost which is low compared to other Damascus steel knives, even if some think it is printed onto the knife. It is pretty, sharp and well made. I do recommend buying this knife, love it.

Very nice knife=Regalia paring knife
I ordered both the Kyoku AND the Regalia Emperor Series paring knives to compare and they are nearly identical in construction and packaging. Both are quality knives, well constructed, very sharp, and attractive. The handles: identical material and construction technique. The pins through the handles and tangs: identical. The handle to blade transition: identical. The appearance and layering of the blades: identical although blade shape slightly different. The Regalia is a little heavier and carries more weight in the handle than the other. My conclusion Is both companies are ordering knives made in the same factory and labeling them differently. Both companies could be the same but I don't get the point of that other than the perception that Japanese knives might b perceived as preferable. Maybe 1 company turned into the other company. The differences are down to appearance and personal preference. With either you'll probably never need to buy another paring knife. I have had the Regalia Santoku knife for 2 years now, excellent knife also, same quality construction. The only difference to knives starting w H or Z etc is lack of lineage. How important is that to you? DAMASCUS STEEL: any modern blade that looks layered is now called damascus but it's truly only Damascus-like. The original damascus no longer exists because the secret to why the steel layered on its own during forging has been lost to time. Some modern steel is folded and layered during forging to give it a damascus like finish, some blades are etched w acid to make it look layered. Any modern blade currently advertised as Damascus is only Damascus-like. It is 100% cosmetic.

Nice Japanese-style knife at a good price
Nice mid+ range "Japanese-style" knife at a reasonable price. It arrived fairly sharp, I've improved that a bit, and maybe this is observation bias because I know where it is made (China), but it doesn't seem to want to hold as sharp an edge that I can get with some of my other higher-end made-in-Japan knives. But still, this knife is now my go-to paring knife and does a good job. 99% of people won't notice, and and I personally have no current desire to spend 2-3x as much for a higher-end "real" Japanese paring knife for only a tiny incremental improvement. This one has earned a spot in my knife bag.
