Good fittings made well

Appears to be brass, but while tightening the metal shaved off and became an issue. Even with tape the fitting was still leaking and could not tighten anymore because of the weak metal. It just kept turning and turning and never locked tight. Threading fit at first, but because of the weak metal the durability wasn't there. Ordered another from Lowe's, had no issue and not metal shavings or stripped threads using the same tools. I think the metal quality was just not there on this one from KAINGA.

SUMMARY 3.0-stars--Acceptable product; works as well as ones bought at local home improvement store BACKGROUND This came up as a Vine suggestion and since I was in the process of doing a plumbing repair, I agreed to review it. INITIAL OBSERVATIONS It appears to be manufactured acceptably. I could not find any differences between it and the ones that I get from a local home improvement store. COMPLAINTS / ISSUES None at this time, but I will revisit this review if I discover are any issues in the future. IMPRESSIONS I have determined over the years that I have better luck ensuring a watertight connection with this type of flared fitting than I do with compression or soldered joints. With compression, I will often tighten it too much and with solder, if I don't have it prepped perfectly, I will end up with a leak. Of course, that is entirely my own fault, but with flared fittings, I have found that I can always just tighten it up a bit more to stop a leak or cut the flare off and try again. Your experience with these technologies might be different though. For the plumbing project that I planned to use these on though, it worked perfectly and I didn't even have to go back and retighten the flares. CONCLUSION The product worked just as well for my needs as the ones that I get from the home improvement stores, so I would have to rate this as "average" (i.e. 3.0-stars).
