Breathing helps the illusion but now, 6 months of ownership, breathing is sporadic despite new batteries. Too bad it didn’t have a switch to turn that on/off. Still a great product with no regrets. **Q: What does it do** A: it stays as it is, makes a little breathing/snoring sound, and the back rises and falls as if it is breathing. We bought the pug for a man that is hospitalized and in an induced coma. Unfortunately, the bottom is hard, and you cannot "feel" the dog breathing as the air pump does not produce sufficient pressure to lift a hand that is resting on it. Our hope was that he could feel and hear the dog and that it would give him some comfort as he had a pug at home. It does come with a bed, brush, and ships in a little house with a certificate. You do have to be very close to it to hear it breathe. **Q: Where is this item made?** A: This item is made in China. **Q: I accidentally dropped mine and now it’s been snoring for a while. How do I stop it?** A: I'm not sure what you mean. When you pull the tag to start the snoring/breathing it never stops( until battery runs out).
