Makes my best friend smile again
My partner & best friend lost his beloved cat last year and misses her terribly. Due to illness and going blind, he feels he can’t take care of another cat any more plus he’s concerned what would happen to his pet when he passes. The holiday season is especially rough on him and I’ve been very concerned. This cat is my early Christmas gift for him and I hope it will help him cope. I told him why the early gift and gave it to him on Sunday. Now I wish I’d taken a picture of his delight! He laughed & smiled so bright 😊 I haven’t seen him this happy in a long time. The cat looks like his beloved MsKitty, a long haired tuxedo cat, and her fur feels soft. Meow & purr are louder, I assume for us hard of hearing, but sounds very sweet. She rolled over, interacted while we were talking, to his delight. Yes, there is a slight mechanical noise when she moves and her body is not as soft as a real cat, the pads in her paw feel somewhat firmer BUT it is the perfect companion for any cat lover who misses their fur baby and can’t take care of a real cat. I wish it would be rechargeable for easier handling. For anyone with a loved one missing their pet, this is a great gift of love and care. MsKitty sleeps on the other side of his bed and he can reach over, feel her purr, hear her meow and reminisce of times past but look forward to the future! He made a clip and sent it to his sister and she thought the cat was real! lol! I tried to post a copy but couldn’t, sorry. You can’t put a price tag on happiness and I sincerely hope MsKitty will be his companion for a long time, unlike some other reviewers reported. Well made, very protective packaging, I highly recommend this cat as it is a wonderful gift. Update 12/04/24 Was just able to add the short clip mentioned above. My friend calls her Cutie now and is so very happy, he even talks to her like we all do with our “living” pets. His family noticed him perking up a little and is a little happier. For as long as it lasts, money very well spent. It means the world to me to have him talk animated about Cutie, smile/joke and how his family members are stopping by to meet the addition to the family! lol Update 01/25/2026 Cutie is still in operation without any problems. Batteries lasting a long time! My partner handles his Cutie with care, like he would have his “real” cats. Personally I feel JOY FOR ALL created a high quality product but handling anything electronic with movable components with less care could cut down on condition/performance of the product.

So realistic that it brings tears to my eyes.
This cute little orange tabby was so realistic that I almost thought I had to return it. My mother is what they call a high functioning dementia patient. She loves this little cat, but we had to bring it home as she kept calling me and my siblings that someone needed to come pick up the cat as she was worried that she couldn’t feed or take care of it. After two days of constant calling and her anxiety, we brought it back to our house. I bought two of the same cats, one for my 93 year old mother, and one for my 99 year old mother in law. The mind moves in inexplicable ways, and my 99 year old mother in law thinks the cat looks real, but knows that it isn’t. While it broke my heart to pick up the little cat from my mother’s assisted living home, it is a testament to the realism of the cat. She named it, I bought a collar for it, and the little kitty( Momo) could have been a good companion. We bring both mothers to our house weekly and we will keep both here to entertain them and keep them company when visiting. It is so hard to try to keep them busy, but combing the little kitty is very soothing for them. I write this with tears in my eyes, as these little kittys are very realistic looking and relate to dementia patients in ways that truly seem real enough to provide comfort and provide a sense of home. I would give these little kittens 6 stars if I could. I know there is a person in this video but I hope it can come through.

Perfect Gift For All Occasions, Ages & Genders! Impressive & A Keeper!
The cat reminds me of an Antique Mechanical Automaton. It does basic cat movements, sounds and actions very well. The cat also sheds a little just like a real one. I was skeptical after readding some of the negative reviews. But realized they were not accurate after receiving my cat. What everyone needs to remember is that this a mechanical device not a stuffed toy. So you need to handle it with care. You can't just toss it around a room like a rag doll and expect it to work. You would not do that with a real cat so treat it as if it were. Also when changing the batteries do it carefully. I should not have to say this but people tend to be very heavy handed when changing batteries and then wonder why the item no longer works. I honestly believe if you use this cat as it was intended it will last years after seeing the cat I received. Also remember to switch the device off with the switch on the bottom when not in use. This way the batteries last longer and it also will prevent any battery leakage from always being active. Remember the normal price of this item is $124.99 so it is not cheap and should be treated as so. I really am impressed by this cat and the lite shedding is a plus cause cats do shed. Right now take advantage of Holiday Pricing from Amazon. Remember you have an extended return window for the Holidays so that is another plus. I also posted 5 photos of my cat. Bottom line is I have no regret with this purchase as well as being impressed by this cat I received. Happy Holidays!

Great, but needs improvement
First, this cat is a wonderful thing!! I bought it for a lady with dementia, and she LOVES it. I wish I could share the video, but due to confidentiality I cannot. It was incredibly wonderful though! She laughed, she smiled nonstop, and she was so happy! It is an awesome gift, and I love the features of the cat! The best part is that it isn't easy to predict, what it's going to do. Sometimes it meows on its own, like a real cat. Sometimes it will lick its paw, or roll over, or start purring. She adores it, and he's brought much happiness to her! I would highly recommend buying one for any person with dementia. Having said all of this, I do wish, extremely, that it was a bit more user friendly insofar as it "eating". The lady who got her is convinced that the cat is hungry when it meows (I can make it silent, but she loves it "talking" to her). I have tried extremely hard to convince her that it doesn't need to eat, but she only remembers it for a short while, then she tries again. It's SO hard, to keep her from trying to feed it, or give it water! I unfortunately think that she may have caused a short in it, from trying to give it water, and pour it down its throat. (I am not always able to monitor this, or stop her.) The eating aspect is very hard too! She waits until it meows, then stuffs food in its mouth. Because it can't close its mouth properly then, it makes an actual chewing motion, trying to close it. It's so hard, as I fear that it may break with her continuing to try this. I wish, very much, that the company would make one that could be fed! If it had a plastic mouth, impervious to moisture, and perhaps a little jar for a stomach, that could be emptied, that would be extremely wonderful! It's a person's nature to want to take care of their pets, and feeding is part of that! Please Joy For All, make a version that can be fed. I would gladly pay more for that feature!

Mom with dementia loves her cat!
My mom has dementia and lives in a memory care assisted living. We gave her the cat for Christmas. When she opened the box and saw the cat, her face lit up. Then when I turned it on and it moved, she really lit up. It's eight months later and she still loves her cat. We're not sure, but we think she thinks its real. She keeps it on her chair in her room and every time she goes in there and turns on the light, the cat meows, which is a pleasant greeting for her. It purrs and meows delightfully as you pet it. The facial and ear movements are really lifelike and it raises it's paw as to wash it's face. The facial and ear movements do make some mechanical noise, but they're not that loud and don't detract from it. The one thing that I could do without is that occasionally the front half twists and rolls back, then after a few minutes it comes back up. That's when you hear the loud motor really kick in and I find it to be an unnatural movement. I was concerned before a bought it that it would be a bit creepy, but it's turned out to be a great purchase for my mom. She pets it, talks to it, and is protective over it. She even worries when she's out of her room too much that it will get lonely. I was there one day when her doctor came into the room, he looked at the cat on the chair and smiled, then it started to meow, and move, and his eyes opened wide and he said "OMG, I've never seen anything like that, I think it's great!" I left but my mother said he came back after his rounds and checked it out some more. Overall, a great gift for an elderly person with dementia. .

Dementia essential
Now, it’s not advanced robotics, it wouldn’t fool a healthy-minded person. This is a wonderful companion for a loved one with advanced dementia. A real cat wouldn’t be able to tolerate the constant handling and fidgeting, but this robot stays put, purrs, meows, moves, interacts, and gets hugged and kissed by the grateful holder. It’s wonderful to see.

Hasbro - no updates in years? Just muting meows it still opens it's mouth to make? Ugh
I have found reviews of this cat from 8 years ago, and it's strange for something electronic to have received no noticeable improvements over the years. There's no excuse for this. Hasbro has the money to make an electronic cat that is so much more realistic than this. Many adult cats don't meow. Those that do, unusually only do so at humans for food or attention. Once they get what they want they do not meow, especially after they have started purring. Purring cats are usually content and have no reason to call for attention. Once the cat starts purring it should not meow unless you stop petting it, that could very well be why so many reviews mention that dementia patients think the cat is hungry. My cat meowed at feeding time her whole, long, life. She also meowed when it was bed time and I was late. The meows served as communication, and Hasbro is gaslighting these poor seniors with faux cats who they are correctly remembering as meowing for a reason. The seniors can remember this, and yet Hasbro can't fix this error in behavior in eight years? It's just a chip. Change the code. Purr = mute meow AND stop the mouth from opening and closing. But you can only give the cat laryngitis, and turn off the meow, leaving it's mouth to open and close as if it's hurt somehow and lost its voice. Again, this is CRUEL to seniors. I'm not a senior, I got this to help with my grief after losing my cat a few weeks ago. The thing that is the absolute deal breaker for me is that you can't stop it from rolling to "let" you pet it's belly. That means it needs to be set next to you where it has room to move without falling off the bed or sofa. If you want a sleeping, purring cat, happily content on your lap, tough luck. Is the rolling over a cute feature? Sure. But after it being able to do that for eight years Hasbro could have made it so you can turn that off. I used to sleep with my cat. She would purr until she fell asleep, not suddenly go for belly rubs while meowing loudly. Maybe there is a cat that acts like this one, but it's rare. I love that it closes its eyes when it purrs. It's very creepy that a competitor purring cat can not close it's eyes. However, you can turn the volume of the purr way down and it never rolls off the bed. Overall, it's something you can carry better, though that it also meows even when it's been purring would probably upset someone with dementia, but who still has a lingering strong memory of cat behavior. The fur on this is soft, but it does shed, and the ears are hard. Silicone exists, there's no reason for the ears to be so hard. There are fabric joints that can be visible where it is articulated to twist to move. Unlike it's competitor, the feet aren't strangely large, and the eyes closing when purring really does give it that extra signal is a content animal. The preening is cute. But I can't imagine how many of these wound up with stripped plastic gears because they were placed somewhere they tried to roll and couldn't. When you think about how much cell phones and cars have changed in eight years, this lack of improvement in a product that scares seniors into thinking it's hurt or hungry is unbelievable. Add a couple more switches. Let people turn off those things that aren't features, but faults, or make a version without them. The purr is a good purr. The shape and eyes that close are fantastic. Hasbro, we should be on version 5.0 or higher by now. Caregivers/family members should be able to adjust a couple settings to make this something that is too unsophisticated to be selling in 2025. I'm sending this back. Fix it, do better, and I'll buy it and keep it. I'll recommend it everywhere. But not in the dated, emotionally harmful way you've left it for most of a decade.

What a great invention!
I just adore my cat. Looks real, sounds real and yes, smells like a real cat after a few days of petting it. The meow sounds is uncanny, sounds like a natural cat. When you don't pat the animal for a while and you come to slightly brush your hand against its head, it makes a sigh sound. It sometimes wakes up even if you don't touch it. The only 'flaw' is a click click sound it makes when it flickers its ears and the slight mechanical noise you can hear when it moves the rest of its limbs but hey, it's a robotic cat! This is the next best thing to a real-life cat, especially when you live in a no-pet-allowed apartment. The benefits are that you don't have to feed it, clean it, take it to the vet and when you don't want it to meow, you have a 'mute' button. Perfect for any age! And it does soothe the anxiety just by holding and petting it. Worth the price! P.S. After only a year of purchase I had two replacements directly with Hasbro. Seems the more you pet him, the more the mechanism inside wears out and the batteries are not the issue. It's a drag because you love your pet, but it's like in real life; you need to put him to sleep and get another one. Can't be repaired.

Solta pelinhos
