This thing is a 10 out of 10!!!! It is, relatively, inexpensive. It is easy to assemble. It is light. It is easy to operate. It is easy to release recovered metal from the sweeper body. I used it in a field in a rural area to pick up metal while cleaning up a former homesite. As I rolled the magnet around, the metal made a “clinking” sound as it left its former hiding spot, flew through the air, albeit for a short distance, and struck the body of the sweeper. This magnet is strong!! The sweeper has a low profile and sits low so it is possible to scrub, or wipe metal from the body of the sweeper if you push it over high spots in the grass\weeds. Fine, simply go over the area several times, from several directions and get all the debris. I found our situation to work best as a two man team, one person raked and the other rolled the sweeper around. I continued to roll it around until I no longer heard those very satisfying “clinking” sounds. In all, in about 45 minutes, the sweeper picked up about 3 gallons of nails!!!! I filled a 5 gallon bucket about 3/5 full in 45 minutes!!!! I was very impressed. This was a very good tool for a very specific job and it worked very well! If you need a tool like this, buy one. You won’t be disappointed.

Easy to assemble. You can figure it out without even using the instructions (which are easy to understand anyway). It’s very well built although the handle is kind of loose. Might just need to tighten it down a little more though. Easy to use. Picks up EVERYTHING that is metal (not so good with aluminum or alloys (but that is expected), so any and all nails and screws are easily grabbed by the magnet. The magnet is strong enough to hold on to the pieces even over rough terrain, although this is better for smoother, even surfaces. You could swap out more “all-terrain wheels” for grass or rocky areas, but these wheels work great for bumpy roads and low grass. The unit is easy to clear of debris using the handle (see instructions on the purchase page). It is heavy though, so make sure you start working out before you buy it. Overall VERY pleased with the purchase, especially considering the price. Get it if you need something like it.

After reading other reviews, I decided that this product could be easily modified for improvement and it was. First, overall material construction is respectable as it feels like a quality product once assembled. The actual width of the area with magnet is 21.5" (not 24" wide). The magnet 'box' is 24", but the sweep area is less. Application is important as it may not be suitable for others. My application is merely to sweep my garage/shop for metal shaving and mislc hardware. Two minor flaws that potential buyers should be aware of: - As others have said, the spacing between magnets seems unreasonable with the only purpose may be to help reduce fabrication cost/expense. The attached picture shows the large gaps between Clean looking magnets. the other ugly magnets are those I added. - There should be a clamp down sleeve for the nuts on the wheels. As it is, you cannot tighten the wheel nuts fully because they will stop rotation of wheel. I had to back off slightly for general wheel movement. This causes a little slop in the wheels.. okay, but could be better. (This will be another mod that I do later). To compensate for the gaping between magnets, I had a cheap magnet sweeper from harbor freight. I took it apart, cut up the magnets (sloppy job) and used those magnets to help fill the gaps in the Tuffiom 24" sweeper (see attached picture). I did not try to be pristine or perfectly clean, but the added magnets seem to work rather well. I still have to sweep over the shop floor multiple time, but I'm okay with that as the small improvement helps somewhat. All in all, this magnetic sweeper works well on my shop floor and I'm perfectly happy with it.

This was a life saver after construction/roof work on our property. No one wants to repair expensive tires or pull a nail from livestock hooves, so for the price its a must have. Well made and easy to push around. Even the kids enjoyed taking turns seeing what they find in the dirt around the property. It is heavy, and cane well packaged.

This was easy to assemble and we had no issues. It works like a charm and it easy to push around the yard and driveway. We live on a property where there are a lot of construction materials. First sweep of the gravel driveway picked up about thirty nails and screws including ones hidden in grass. Can’t recommend this highly enough. It has already paid for itself in saving me potentially tire punctures!

Fortunately, assembling the sweeper was not difficult - even without the instructions. One day, perhaps, the Chinese manufacturers will start employing people, that have a good grasp of English, to write assembly instructions for these products. Without the illustrations, the accompanying written instructions would have been useless. The sweeper, itself, works adequately. Unfortunately, the magnet bar inside the sweeper chassis was inexplicably set at the factory to its highest position. I would have liked to reset it to its lowest position, but my hands are just too big to reach inside the chassis without cutting them to ribbons on the sharp metal. Again, it would have been helpful to have some legible, understandable instructions on the raising and lowering of the magnet. The bottom line, though, is that the magnet sweeper is adequate. I am disappointed, however, that I was unable to reset the magnet to its lowest position as, in the higher position, high grass tends to knock loose some of the debris that the sweeper might have captured on the bottom of the chassis.
