The Best value on the Market
This will be a fairly detailed and honest review.1. Who is this for? This computer is what I would consider a gateway computer. Those who are looking at upgrading a fairly old or not so powerful laptop and are looking to do a little more productivity, this is a great option.2. What do you get?Well you can probably read the description, however it's worth noting. You get an Intel i7 7500u CPU (dual core with 4 threads) 12gb DDR4 RAM, Nvidia 940mx GPU, a 256gb SSD, 15.6" 1080p screen, fingerprint reader, and a backlit keyboard. The reason I mention all of the feautures is because you would be hardpressed to find another laptop with these features for the same price. To my knowledge there is not laptop on the market for $800 with an i7, dedicated graphics, 12gb of RAM and an SSD. This is really one of the best values on the market right now. With all of that said, this isn't for everyone. If you want to do extensive gaming, this is not for you. Can it game? Yes, light gaming can be achieved, however it isn't marketed as a gaming laptop. Is this for someone who wants to do editing (video, audio, photos)? Yes, again light editing can be achieved. What blew me away with this computer is the speakers! They are fantastic! I usually use headphones and would consider myself somewhat picky with sound, and for laptop speakers these are really something great. This computer is really a middle of the pack all arounders dream. If you dabble in a little of this and a little of that but don't do anything professionally or extremely serious, this is really all you need. Also, everyone's experience is different. Some hate loud fans, and if this is pushed the fans will be audible. Some don't like that the backlit keyboard times out after 30 seconds of no use. These things really don't bother me.Lastly, the versatility of this laptop is really great. I've bought tablets and sold them because I couldn't justify having a laptop and tablet, then bought tablets again because I missed the things I could do with them that I was missing on a laptop. This solved all of those issues except size. It's pretty big, which for some is a plus others its not.Overall, if you are looking at upgrading and don't want to spend $1,200-2,000 on a flagship model laptop this is a great option! I can't recommend this enough.

Better than Lenovo Flex 4 Both are $799
Better than Lenovo Flex 4. I originally purchased Lenovo Flex 4-15Inch 80VE000MUS. However, after a couple of weeks, the screen wobble, the 1/2 size right shift, and odd placement, sent me in search again. The Acer solves the keyboard issue, and the screen wobble is barely there, as I type this the Acer screen barely moves, the Lenovo screen is all over the place. The hinge on the Acer is stiffer, and wider and look more durable; and the balance between base and screen is better. The Lenovo wants to fall backwards. The Acer is fractionally lighter, on the scale. The trackpad is larger and works faster, smoother and QUIETER than the Flex 4. Acer is slightly thinner, but about 1/2 inch less wide, the rest of their footprints are basically identicalSame processor I7-7500U, 12GB Acer vs 8Gb on Flex Both are Full HD Screen, both 256SSD. Flex has Samsung passmark 4295 and Acer has HFS256 Passmark 3203. Frankly I can't tell the difference. Flex AMD Video Vs Acre Nvidia, again I can't tell the diff and I don't game. The screen on the Acer is MUCH brighter. I posted a photo of each at 50%. The Flex can hardly be seen outside, the Acer, much better, neither are good in direct sunlight. Speed, Acer seems slightly faster. Keyboard is firm and easy to type on layout on Acer is closer to a real KB. Both touchscreens work well, but the Flex 4 bounces much more. Wifi for both seem to hold the same 866 on 5ghz almost all over the house. Both boot really fast. Acer is missing Ethernet port, not something I use very often. Both have backlit KB, Sound on both is fairly decent, but I think the Acer may be slightly better. Neither has gotten hot in my lap, either during discharge or charging. Both are very quiet. Battery life seems good on both, but Acer is usually longer; Flex is 6-6.5, and Acer is 7-7.75 perhaps a bit better. Neither has much bloatware, just the typical Lenovo, and Acer utilities and Office 365 trial; the rest is Windows 10 bloat. Not giving Acer 5 stars because I have not owned more than a few days, If it stays fluid and reliable I would bump to 5 star, Flex 4 gets a 3 at best. All in All Acer wins for me. I like the gray steel color of the Acer better as well, and it feels solid to hold but not unwieldy. As with all things, you may have a different experience but I am very happy with the Acer R 15.
