This is an easy to read basic book, a good start.
This little book is for people who need some basic information about raising guinea fowl as pets. It doesnโt go into great depths, nor detail but should be reassuring to the first time guinea owner. There are a couple of things that I donโt think it emphasizes enough, primarily guinea foolishness and noise. We find that our guineas are too foolish to immediately fly away if a strange dog or other predator comes around. Luckily our own dogs have been trained to not chase them and to chase away strange dogs, but weโve spent a good bit of effort teaching them, since guineas wonโt learn anything they donโt want to learn. Guineas donโt know the difference between a harmless deer and a coyote, so we continue to maintain predator awareness despite having big guinea friendly dogs. Also, the noise is mentioned but canโt be emphasized enough. Guineas use their noise to call each other, scare away cats and to make humans do what they want. Their โstrangers are comingโ song is different from their โwe are hungryโ song but no book can describe the difference.

i love this little book
I have a small โconfusionโ of 4 guineas on my property and got this book to become more educated. The language is wonderful, this small and well organized primer is perfect for me.

Interesting but needs serious editing...
I am new to guinea fowl-got suckered to rehabbing one with a broken leg who now lives with my chickens. I bought this book to learn more about them. I did learn a lot of good information, but couldn't get over the typos and lack of editing. On the back of the book cover there is a list of topics the book covers, and one is "progressive care for guinea pigs"...
