Amazon Basics Portable USB Condenser Microphone, Black

Well, I bought this l'il fella back in sept or october not even that convinced it was going to cut it for the specific task I had in mind.Now, we're nearing the end of january and if has become indespensible and as much a part of my basic gear as the more critical components.I'm a guitar player,an electric guitar player who may not be a professional musician I am at a level where recording has become part of guitar world.I began by simply using my webcam on my laptop which was barely to moderately successful, the problem though being quality of sound.Sometimes it would be nearly acceptable others hard to listen toThe volume and sound quality - EQ constantly faded in and out which even on a good day was bad enough that I often stopped watching the playback because it annoyed me so much.So I employed my default solution which is fire up Amazon and see if they have a remedy for sale.So that's how I came to buy an Amazon Basics USB microphone.It sounded by the description that it would be up to the job and from the word go it has not disappointed at all.It so simple to set up and use it almost does it itself.It's certainly robust. I don't know if you can see my attatched photos clearly but I have found the best way to use it is to clip it to a guitar stand then place it wherever you get the sound you want.As you no doubt can imagine it lives a rough life,falling off stands, tripping over the cable and wrenching it, knocked about, stood on and tossed into a box with all the other gear at the end.So far it has worked impeccably and is doing so right now. It records with excellent clarity with little background hiss or bum.All round excellent purchase.

Bought these to use at work to record some commentary over a presentation.I use a MAC which comes with USB C connectors only, so I had to connect this up with my hub. (I knew this before hand). Plugging in, it was recognised by the operating system and listed as a Amazon microphone, not something generic.It securely clips onto the top of my screen, and it's not overly tight so the screen could be at risk.It's quite weighty.. not what I would call heavy, but it's got some weight, which is effectively reassuring that it's quality.Works well, it is certainly a lot more effective than using just the inbuilt Mac microphone, I also tested it on an IP video call (we use Google Hangouts at work), and it worked and the person I was talking to said that the sound quality was better.Comes with a nice zip up PVA case, although there is not any room inside it for the cable, which kind of defeats the purpose in my opinion.

Ok mic for the price. Cant say anything about the camera as I dont think it has one. It's just the mic.

Absolutely perfect, works incredibly well for video conferencing. Sound is crisp and clear.

Has worked great for meetings during quarantine. However please not if your computer screen is thick then you cannot use the clip attachment.Have had this for 6 weeks now.

It works quite well my Win 10 laptop, but the spring-loaded clip to hold it in place at the top edge of the screen is, in my experience, difficult to fit and liable to being accidently dislodged.

Use it for recording lectures. I sit at the front, and tge sound quality is pretty good considering.It is not designed for this however I couldnt find a good alternative that plugs into computer and isnt unreasonably big. Dictaphones nice quality but if I cant sync it to slides will never listen to them. I like the mute button so people can see i have turned it off during breaks.
