Oil Eater Original 1 Gallon Cleaner, Degreaser - Dissolve Grease Oil and Heavy-Duty Stains – Professional Strength

I use this for parts cleaning because it is water soluble. I have also used this as an engine degreaser. With the price that they want for a can of engine degreaser. I decided why not try this. At the price for this I decided to just spray it on fully concentrated. Just spraying it on with a spray bottle removes grime. I spray everything really good and give it a few minutes to sit. Then I spray it off with full pressure of the hose. I usually spray it all down again with Oil Eater and do it again. I was kind of low on this product the other day that I diluted it 1:1 to clean everything under my front wheel well. I am redoing all the bushings and ball joints on my truck. After removing everything, I decided to spray everything down and clean it so there wasn't dirt and grime falling on me when I put it back together. Even with it diluted 1:1 it worked great. The next day I was looking at it, and everything was actually clean enough to paint everything in that area. So, I painted everything, and it seems to have stuck very well. I opened up the box of my new bottle of Oil Eater and it says it is now 3x more concentrated than before. I am sure that you could dilute it a lot more and still get a good clean. At around $20 a gallon, I have no problem spraying it at full concentration. I don't scrub anything. Just spray it on and hose it off. It also works great to clean the underneath of your vehicle if you need to work on it. You would be amazed at how clean it makes it just doing that. It makes working under your vehicle easier. Without having all the oil and road grime caked with dirt falling in your face. It will not completely clean everything off under your vehicle just by spraying it on and rinsing it off, but it makes a huge difference. I get my engine just as clean doing this method as the spendy can of engine degreaser gets it.

I have used this before and am a repeat customer. I find it to work pretty good. Depending on how deep, big or how long the oil stain has been in asphalt I may scrub some in before letting it sit awhile. Some i just let it sit over night or at least 24-48 hours. You may not need it that long but I felt it wouldn’t hurt and it didn’t. I spray it off and sometimes use a brush to scrub it in then off a little more. Pro: it is very easy to apply and let sit. You can scrub it in with a broom too. Works well on asphalt. One of the best things I found Con which isn’t a real bad con.. may have to treat it more than once if it’s a big stain. Also, may not take out the stain completely but 90 -99 percent better if not 100. i mean you can only do so much with motor oil stains and depending how old and big it is

Just a warning if you use this stuff in your parts washer. Being water based does not mean it's wimpy. There's not much of a warning on the label about contact besides keep out of eyes and may irritate skin. It's now got an improved label than what's on the product pictures here. I got a bit carried away the first time I used it (because it worked so well). I had safety glasses on, but not gloves. This was a mistake. About an hour of blissfully cleaning parts and my more exposed left hand was pruney. Then my skin was tight and my finger nails turned yellowish once it dried out. Lots of lotion later and my entire hand peeled 2 days later. My finger nails have not recovered and probably won't until they grow out. Learn from my mistake - PLEASE WEAR SAFETY GLASSES AND GLOVES! Above that, this stuff is really impressive for water based degreaser. I see some people complain about corrosion, This might come from dilution with water? I use it undiluted. I cleaned raw aluminum parts, painted parts, plastic parts whatever. It cleaned everything neatly. I guess with the oil from the parts getting recirculated with the solvent puts it on the parts. They dry with a bit of an oily sheen. No corrosion. It will take weak paint coatings off parts if you go too hard. Otherwise besides the skin issue, it definitely gets the work done quickly.

This stuff is awesome. It’ll eat through brake dust and breakdown grease.

I was skeptical at first since it’s water-based but I figured I’d buy it and try it and it’s well worth it much safer than using flammable solvent I used it to clean the engine and underneath the body of a 1965 Mustang so you can imagine how much grease and oil and road grime was on this car I mixed it at 10 to one with hot water sprayed it on allowed it to set for a while and then sprayed another coat then took the pressure washer to it and you can see what was coming out from under the car. I highly recommend it and will buy it again if needed.

Year old oil stains on a new driveway that was poured two years ago. It helped but not a lot. Problem is nothing seems to work so this worked as good as anything.

I've tried all the readily available degreasers. Oil Eater is the absolute best one. Especially if you do not dilute it. Only use it straight for really tough oil/grease stains. If it's light oil/grease absolutely dilute it.

I bought this product in hope of removing, even if partially, an oil stain left on my driveway by one of our cars. After a full gallon of Oil Eater used at different times (and always following directions), mixed with brushing and power washing the result is absolutely nothing (see pic). I am very disappointed with the product. I am also disappointed with the company, which claims to have an unconditional money-back warranty if you are not satisfied with the product, and showed how much they mean it with their reply to my request: "You will need to go through Amazon's return process in order to get your money back. If you cannot return it, I can help you find some additional uses for Oil Eater. I understand it did not work on your oil stain however it is a phenomenal multi-purpose cleaner/degreaser and floor cleaner. For your oil stain, I would recommend using a product like our Overnight Stan Remover instead of a degreaser. That product is designed to go deep beneath the pours and lift the stain to the surface."

This stuff is great! Not harsh like the petrochemical versions and works just as well. I have used to degrease engine parts, clean my garage floor and even recently used to clean up the loor tiles in my house and brought them up like new! I sprayed on diluted 10:1 on to the tiles allow to sit for five then scrubed with broom and long handle grout brush. RInsed with water and vacuumed up with wet'n'dry vac and ended up with results nearly as good as a pro floor cleaner :-) Can no longer purchase locally, but Amazon delevered was economical.

Quite good cleaning power. Used in ultrasonic cleaner. Cleaned up carby and a few other items without damage to alloy or any other items.
