Review: Beautiful Piece! - I wanted a fitting storage box for my Rosary - especially after having it blessed by my parish Priest and it now becoming a Sacramental. Since the Ark of the Covenant was the forerunner of the Blessed Virgin being the NEW Ark...and since Blessed Mary gave us the Rosary as THE weapon to use against evil and to pray for sinners...what better container than the ARK! I was worried about ordering as some reviews said either their piece came without the lid or was damaged in some way or even poor craftmanship...but...since I have FREE RETURNS I decided to pull the trigger and ordered the MEDIUM sized version ($32.50) While I wish the box it came in had bubblewrap...it did not. However, the entire piece arrived undamaged and in PERFECT CONDITION! The Gold layer is BEAUTIFUL. The base has felt underneath. The lid comes off and has a nice hefty weight to it. Under the lid is black felt. Inside bottom of box is mirrored and is just big enough to hold a regular sized Rosary. If you are looking for something special to hold your religious objects in this is it...but I wouldnt go smaller than the medium size version.

A: about the size of half a shoe box...I like it...

**Q: where is it made?**
A: Well ....since it's not the real ark of the covenant...nine times out of 10 its probably made from China like everything else...

**Q: Does the lid come off?**
A: Yes. Just like the original, the Ark is the box and the lid, The Mercy Seat, comes off. I did take the lid off of mine, and fortunately, nothing came out like the Indianna Jones movie, so feel safe to touch it and open it and enjoy it.

**Q: what are the dimensions?**
A: Unfortunately I cannot give the exact dimensions. Our house is being remodeled and everything is in boxes and packed away. It fit in the palm of my hand and so I could estimate that it was about five or six inches long. It was about three or four inches wide and was about three or four inches tall. The ratio was correct per the description in the Bible. I hope this helps. It is beautiful and I personally wished it had been larger, but large models were either too expensive or very costly to ship.
